San Gimignano Apartments Chianti

Location right in the historic centre of San Gimignano. Very comfortable.

Not a lot of light in the flat but that's due to the fact that the old properties have small windows which is very charming.

We liked the location, the apartment in general, it had two bathrooms and two bedrooms, very clean and comfortable.

It was quite difficult to recover the keys from the lockbox, despite the instructions we had to phone. The staircase was very difficult to negotiate for my brother who walks with a stick. The corner steps were a problem to climb even for us, with skewed steps and little space for turning. The TV had no instructions and the remote control batteries were old and not working, it was impossible to navigate the screens

Location

Reduced physical space: free movement, due to the arrangement of 7 large antique pieces of furniture inside the apartment. All without functionality (or aesthetics) for the traveler. When renting an apartment, instead of a room, you are looking for more physical space, free movement, greater ventilation. Noise: Doors and windows without sound insulation or adequate closure. They require restoration, and the windows in the rooms, due to the old adapted portable air, have broken glass. The mosquito screens were damaged and dirty. Luckily it was cold. Neighbors: superior apartment very noisy. Beds:  with metal structure/completely loose headboard. Without fixing to the beds/mattresses, they resulted in squeaks when moving while sleeping. Kitchen utensil: Electric kettle damaged, the internal metal material is decomposing. There is a lack of restoration: the interior paint of the apartment is in decomposition, there are thick layers of paint peeling off. Towels: well used. Blankets not sanitized. Trash: we were required (only in this accommodation) to collect the trash produced, even though the cleaning lady was about to come. Public trash cans are not close to the apartment. Check Out: required by 10 am. All other accommodations were at 10:30 a.m. Without the possibility of storing our luggage.
