Regent’s Retreat

A charming one-bedroom basement flat in the heart of Leamington, perfect for a short stay for 1-2 people. The flat is small but very well furnished and thought-out. The kitchen has pretty much everything you need, and the pint of milk in the fridge was a nice touch, as were the tea bags and coffee. The bathroom is small - if you're claustrophobic or very tall you might want to look elsewhere - there's also a washing machine and tumble dryer. Bedroom is small and neat but the bed was very comfortable. Big TV with lots of streaming services ready to use. I would've happily stayed another night or two.

The stairs down to the flat are narrow and steep so anyone with mobility problems should avoid it. Otherwise very hard to find fault.

Initially, we booked this stay for Pub in the Park as Victoria Park is in walking distance. On that basis we spent a great week in Leamington Spa. There are plenty of National Trust or other tourist locations within a 45 minutes driving radius. The apartment is located close to the town centre with restaurants, shops, parking and bars. It is surprisingly quiet and cool on hot summer days. It is equipped with everything you might need, even streaming services. Communication with the friendly hosts was uncomplicated and quick, re-filling of coffee or other consumables happened without any problems.

No issues for us but maybe for others: You have to enjoy basement flats as there are few windows and not so much natural light. The stairs are indeed small and steep but for average fit people that is no problem.

The contact with the owner over the phone was very friendly and entrance to the flat was via a door code which was extremely easy to use. The flat was ideally located for the centre of Leamington and meant we could come and go as necessary.

It is a basement flat and so by necessity it is accessed by very steep steps. This was not a problem for us but would prove difficult for anyone with mobility issues.
