I booked a one night stay a residence cocotier for 2 people since early March 2026 and the request has been approved by the property on 23 March 2026. On Monday 11 May 2026 early morning after noticing the property hasn't reached out with the checkin details, I sent the property a message via booking app requesting the check in details. Around 3.30pm on Monday, I called the property requesting check in details and to my surprise, the property owner informed me he didn't had any booking for me. He further stated that he doesn't rent the accomodation for one night and his property is currently under construction. I informed the property owner the booking has already been approved BY his residence on 23 March 2026 and payment has already been made. Until and unless he approves the booking request, the payment will not go through. He started accusing me of not reaching out way earlier. I informed him if the booking has already been approved and payment already gone through, I do not have to reach out to him days or weeks earlier as the check in details can be provided on the same day. The property owner denied all responsibilities for not being able to provide an accommodation and turned the table on me, stating I should have reached out to him way earlier (I did reached out asking for checkin details early morning on Monday 11 May 2026). By the time our conversation was over, it was already 4pm and impossible to find an accomodation in such short period of time and my partner and I had to sleep in our car overnight. I put a complaint through with booking and still waiting for a response.
