Beautifully decorated for Christmas and a lovely welcome gift. This was a great little apartment, a mix of old and modern and perfect for what we needed. The gas wood burner kept us beautifully warm. We were write in the centre with everything walkable. There are so many places to eat and drink there is no time to get bored. Perfect for a short stay. The host was very professional and friendly and we were even lucky enough to get an early check-in.

The shower room is extremely small, but for two or 3 of you, it is not an issue. If there were four of you staying (2 couples), it might have been more awkward. It is an old building and the windows are single glazed so we could hear noise from the pub across the street but once that closes, it’s fine. We struggled using the radiator system, but the gas fire was a much better option. We cooked a fry up on Christmas morning and unfortunately set the fire alarm off three times whilst cooking the bacon, that was a bit of a pain. We did manage to cook a roast on Boxing Day with no issues. We could’ve done with a few more things in the kitchen to use, a jug to make the Yorkshire mix for instance and the saucepans are starting to get a little tatty, but other than that, it was very well equipped. If you have no plans to cook anything then this won’t be an issue, but we were there for a few days and wanted to have a mix of both. I would suggest the back bedroom being the preferred choice to sleep, particularly if you like to be in bed early. I am really being picky here but honest. It really is a beautiful place and location and very reasonably priced.

Single glazed windows were a bit draughty, rained in a bit, and you could hear outside noise, maybe not allowed to update windows?
