Double Suite by the Ocean

Location is in a nice historic port area with lots of eateries nearby, and the train station is nearby for easy access to Lisboa town. The apartment was clean with everything as advertised. Our host Frederico was terrific either way his communications and providing advise. Highly recommended.

Not a big issue but the pans were very poor, whatever you try to fry just sticks to the pan. But at least they were easy to clean.

Great location just steps from the waterfront and a few minutes walk to the grocery store, train station, and many good restaurants. The apartment was exceptionally clean and well stocked. The kitchen had everything necessary for cooking whatever we wanted to make. We appreciated the French press coffee maker as so many vacation rentals now have only "pod" type machines. This apartment has a washing machine and a dishwasher.

The beds were very hard, almost like sleeping on a carpeted floor rather than a mattress. We found it difficult to get a good night's sleep. The floors are thin, so if the upstairs neighbors aren't exceptionally considerate, you'll hear every step they take and every chair they move.

Charming renovated older building. Easy and short walking distance to the train station, farmers market, Pingo Doce grocery store, restaurants and local shops. A decent view of Tejo River from ground floor apartment. If a sunny day--you get sunshine all day long from the living room/kitchen area of apartment. Excellent wi-fi, noise insulated windows (although traffic at night is non-existent), supplies provided for washing machine (we didn't use machine for drying and hung dried our clothes). Frederico was a very pleasant and charming fellow. :)

Unfortunately, we had noisy neighbors (young children) above us for first 2 days during our week-long stay. Minor issues: apartment door can be difficult to open and you only get sun from the kitchen/living room side of apartment (south exposure)--not in bedrooms next to street (north exposure).

Frederico and Marisa were wonderful hosts. Always willing to help out or make a suggestion. Great neighborhood, 3-5 minute walk to train between Lisboa and Cascais, which we used all the time. Quite neighborhood, many restaurants nearby, a grocery store etc. Try the burger place across the street, really good burgers. Water view, boardwalk along the water across the street. Made for lovely walks anytime of day. Beds (firm, not hard) and linens were comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped. Even had decent knives! Only drawback is the uncomfortable couch in the living room. The host is going to replace it. Unit is very quiet, clean and well maintained. Would stay here again in a heart beat.
