Very well located, close to nice places, bars, restaurants, etc. The unit operates well, eg nice kitchen and lounge. The WiFi was good. TV nice. Loved the cladding in the lounge!

The owner has done a nice job on the unit, but a few small things will take him from 80% to 95%. For example, the bathroom shower has no hold for the showerhead, the bath has some rust in it, water leaks from behind the toilet, no bath floor mats. The kitchen geyser leaks, kettle does not work, no dishwasher detergent, no spatula, ONE teaspoon, etc. The bed slept ok, but the cushions were very high (neck pain!), and the fabric softener in the bedding was overwhelming. Too much.

I loved the privacy.

They may get want to put a few toiletries in the bathroom like soap and shampoo and a hair dryer. Otherwise, excellent.

Bathroom needs updating

It was what I expected for the price of the lodging when I booked it (about 25 euros a night). The location was excellent, although Castelo de Vide is small enough that it's a non-factor. It was easy to check in and out, though check-in was not so straightforward. The coffee machine was a nice touch and the owner thankfully had some nice extra warm blankets that were essential since it was rather cold when I stayed. The owner was very communicative and was accomodating when I needed to change the dates for which I was staying last minute.

The owner would benefit from having clearer check-in instructions, or perhaps investing in a lock-box. There was an apparent miscomunication about my time of arrival and so I had to stand out in the rain and freezing wind for a good 10-15 minutes before someone met me to let me in. They were nice and offered basic instructions on the hot water and checking out, but didn't show me where anything was nor how to use the stand-alone heater, which would have been nice considering how cold it was. I managed to find bath and hand towels, which weren't laid out, but there was no soap in the shower or the sink. The only soap available was dish soap in the kitchen. It would have been nice if the owners would have stocked the place with basic essentials like that some more (though they did leave coffee that was very good). The electrical outlets also seemed faulty because my devices would barely charge and wifi barely worked outside the main entrance area. The bed was hard and you could feel the springs, it didn't bother me so much because I sleep like a rock but I could see it being an issue for others.

Absolutely little gem of portugal, like stepping back in time.. just lovely, check in was quick without any dramas. Beautiful walks & back to your own little cool house in the heat of the day.. make note there is no window's, in this property but when you have the door open onto the historic street, this doesn't matter too much..

central location , but one do need some more directions from owners on how to find the narrow street.

It is lovely being able to stay in this wonderful town. There is much h to do especially if you like to hike.

There are only windows in the door so you feel like you are in a cave -how ver it is an nice cave
