The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated. The garden terrace was amazing and Shizuka made our stay even more memorable. If I could, I would rate this place 100/10.

Where to even begin.. Shizuka is such a pure and genuine soul. We absolutely loved staying with her. What makes a trip memorable is not only the places you visit, but the people you meet. Shizuka is such a person. She has chosen to share her slice of paradise with (international) travelers and we couldn't be more grateful. The homestay is comfortable, tastefully decorated and included all the amenities you could ask for - including guidebooks and local recommendations. Shizuka took her time showing us the property and the facilities. She even made a welcome platter for us with local snacks! Every day, we were greeted with the most beautiful fresh flowers from her garden. When we visited (January 2025), she had two cute baby goats (Linda-chan & Emma-chan). Her garden is a real treasure, with local herbs and fruits. We slept fantastic, since it was very quiet. The local beach around the corner is stunning. It is also the place where my partner proposed to me, making this trip even more memorable. From the bottom of our hearts - thank you Shizuka! We hope to see you again, in Ishigaki or in Luxembourg.

Everything was absolutely perfect! Some other reviewers complained about the bathroom/toilet being located behind the bedroom and living space. For us, this was not a problem at all. Some reviewers made it seem as if you had to walk a couple minutes. In reality, you just have to go around the corner of the building.

We have traveled the world and stayed in many Airbnbs over the years, and out of all of them, this one is our favorite. The room fits the island relaxed feeling and has a unique style, with everything that is needed. The separate bathroom and kitchen is convenient as well. The shining gem of our entire stay was Shizuka, who explained many things we could do on the island, gave advice, showed us her cute goat, and even surprised us with some very tasty snacks!!! She is really fun to talk to. We hope to visit this wonderful place again someday!

Nothing - everything was great! But for touring the island, I recommend bringing bug repellent. We learned our lesson the hard way.

The property is near a lovely secluded beach where you can watch the sunset. The host is charming and makes you feel so welcome providing lots of information to help you navigate the island. We will definitely be back again.

The house felt warm and welcoming, with a very cozy vibe to it. There were goats on site which were adorable to pet, as well as to walk in the evenings (we even got to do it by the beach !). Shizuka, the property owner, was the sweetest most welcoming host we’ve ever had and she made sure that every day of our stay was perfect. At the beginning of the stay, Shizuka was nice enough to guide us through everything we can do on the island, including souvenirs, sightseeing spots, etc. There is a private beach 4m walk from the house, on which you rarely find anyone and most of the time you are completely alone which feels like a paradise. In case there are people, all you need to do is to walk 1m right or left (either direction) and there it is… another private beach all to yourself. Additionally, you can rent a BBQ from Shizuka for 1500¥ and she will provide all the sauces, including Japanese traditional ones. Finally, at night, you can see a spectacular view of the Milky Way, if you are by car, then a 2m drive from the village is enough from all the lights and on foot maybe 5m.

Absolutely nothing to complain about ! Was perfect from beginning to end

Host was incredibly helpful and lovely. Grilling on the porch was fun. Bed was very comfortable. A/C worked great. Place was very cute as shown in photos. This was definitely away from everything and in nature as promised.

This Property is best described as a home stay. Sizjucka was just an amazing host and went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. She took us to see Fireflies and arranged restaurant and kayaking for us and brought us little food treats. All areas were spotless.

It wasn't really a dislike but this area of ishigaki is far from food shops, you will need a car and restaurants are available but vary in opening times.

Shizuka was so nice, she made me feel at home and taught me so many things about the island. She shares a lot it was hard to leave.
