Otter's Pocket

Excellent location for access to town with a variety of restaurants

The parking on site as advertised was on street parking passed the property. Unfortunately was unable to park without a lot of driving around to find a space. Very disappointed as this aspect was not clear until we arrived at the property.

I liked the location. I liked that the accommodation was compact and it did not require a lot of cleaning up after myself. I liked the large screen television and options available.

There were several very small issues that I would say come under 'attention to detail'. If those things could be remedied, then it would elevate the comfort of the stay. I would not wish to list those points here. However, if the landlord would like more detailed, specific feedback, then I would be happy to do so if he contacts me directly. Lastly, proper labelling at the accommodation i.e., identifying all the various light switches and also notifying that the cooker wall switch also controls the power to the fridge. A welcome book would have also been appreciated.

Perfect location for the Hall & Woodhouse Badger Brewery tour. Centre to Blandford Forum village centre.

The skylight window. There is a blind but it’s white, paper thin and reflects sunlight at 5am. This really needs replacing with a blackout blind. Also, the little skylight is the only ventilation so would recommend a fan to use at night. There is no onsite parking - I was advised to park at pub over the road but this has newly installed bollards so we had to park about a 5min walk away on the estate.

Little apartment with a cosy vibe. Good base for people visiting Dorset. Close to the shops and restaurants.

It could be cleaner, especially kitchen utensils and pots. Shower has very low water pressure. Lack of storage for clothes - one small wardrobe in the corner would do the job.

Comfy, great internet, cool idea, great location, reasonably priced. One or two of the bad reviews on here are from crazy people. The nightclub has closed forever so no longer an issue.. I had a very nice stay.

Could do with a table in living room, blind in skylight and mirror in bathroom for shaving. Minor improvements that's all.

Had a very enjoyable stay at the Otter’s Pocket, great location right in the town centre. The property itself was clean, comfortable and very well maintained. I also had no issues with noise from the pub opposite as it is currently closed. I would definitely recommend staying at the Otter‘s Pocket.

Only small issues I had were that there was virtually no toilet paper when I arrived and only a dribble of already diluted handwash in the bathroom. I have no problem in supplying my own toiletries when self catering, but I would expect at least a days worth to be there on arrival. Also the skylight in the sleeping area, could definitely do with a blind on it, wasn’t too bad at this time of year, but in the summer it may be an issue for some.

The host was phenomenal with quick responses to any questions and very helpful when asked anything. Would highly recommend staying there and will be back in the future.
