Lovely home for few days. Clean, peaceful surroundings, with green trees and river floating nearby. Friendly hosts make your stay comfortable. Free parking.

The location was pleasant and conveniently located just 10 minutes from downtown playa del carmen, which was exactly what we were looking for. The facility was located behind 2 separate security gates, providing a sense of safety and security. The apartment was well equipped and surprisingly spacious, given the reasonable price. We particularly enjoyed the on-site amenities like the swimming pools and kayaking facilities. The rooftop terrace with hot tubs also looked enticing, but it is recommended to book them early if you have a short stay. It would have been even better if we could schedule the hot tubs prior to our arrival.

The directions provided to reach the apartment were terrible, and it took us nearly an hour to locate the entrance from the OXXO. To find the correct location, search for "Lagunas de Mayakoba" on Google maps and enter the property via the Ciudad Mayakoba gate (see photos), identifiable by the waterfalls. I contacted the property manager on the day following our arrival (Sunday) to report a broken latch on the patio doors. They informed me that a maintenance crew could not be sent on Sunday due to community regulations but would fix the problem on Monday. I left the keys in the lockbox as instructed, but unfortunately, the door remained unrepaired during my entire week-long stay. Although I managed to temporarily shim the door latch, it still made me uncomfortable leaving valuables in the condo. The cleanliness level of the condo could have been a little better, and the stained sheets and pillows definitely need to be replaced.

The apartment complex is relatively new so all aspects of the apartment were modern and functioned perfectly. There is a security gate at the entrance for safety. The location is nicely situated outside of Playa del Carmen which is a relatively busy city. The road outside the complex has a dedicated walking path that goes along nicely landscaped areas with birds, butterflies, and I even saw 5 turkeys crossing the road :-) The complex is conveniently located near some of the more popular attractions on the Mayan Riviera.

One downside to being on the first floor is that you hear people talking as they walk past. Another noise source was the apartment above. I could hear the kids talking loudly and stomping across the floor, and some wooden furniture (like a chair) was scraping as it was pulled in and out. Fortunately this ended by 10pm so I could sleep.
