Apartment Old Town Reina Sofia 4

Perfect location making access to all of Puerto del Carmen really easy to get to. Very central to beach, restaurants, bars and supermarkets as well as transport links. Apartment was bigger than expected, bed was very comfortable and it had everything we needed.

We liked the convenience of the location. Close to buses, taxis, restaurants & bars. The apartment was spotlessly clean with lots of room inside. Everything was supplied that was needed for cooking, washing and cleaning the addition of a washing machine & Iron, ironing board was really good. The aircon was available in both living room and bedroom. The shower was lovely and powerful. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of wardrobe space. The WiFi was good most of the time but there were times it was a little unstable but it didn't really affect us at all. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and a great location.

The shower leaked all over the floor but was easily solved by placing a towel down to catch the overflow. There was a problem with the hot water over a few days but once we notified the owner it was fixed within a few hours. The lack of natural ventilation is unusual in both bathroom and especially bedroom, however we feel that an extractor fan could solve the bathroom. The bedroom definitely had an odour in it and we were unable to find the cause. The curtains were fresh as were the bedsheets and bed linen. We couldn't smell any bad odours from the wardrobes either so we feel it is a build up of breathing throughout the night. Once we open the bedroom door the odour disappeared quickly. We found a vented roof window in the washing machine room between the bathroom and bedroom and so we opened that up and opened the windows into the utility room which seemed to help with ventilation a little. Once again these were minor inconveniences and easily overcome. We also understood it was down to the location of the bedroom that it was not possible to have a window directly to the outside. There were no instructions for the TV but we used a cable and connected our laptop and watched our own movies, however I think it would be good to have basic instructions for the TV channels. I'm sure if we had asked the owner they would've provided us with some but it wasn't necessary to us, but perhaps for others it would be. We spent a lot of time out exploring and ate out every night...but on 3 occasions we returned early as we were tired, but unfortunately the noise from the bar below was very loud and we could hear the music playing into the bedrrom right up until 11.30 and sometime midnight, this again was not a big problem as we just stayed up and watched a movie until the music stopped and we could go to bed.

Very convenient if staying in the old town. Very modern and very clean apartment.

Great location, close to the bus stop, close to playa Chica (5min), big living room and kitchen (altough I didn't use it), little balcony to dry your washing. The shower very big, as the mirror, so it is nice to get ready. They came to clean the room after 2 days. Provided toilet paper. There is a big fridge also which is very helpful.

I was honestly surprised about the great reviews when I entered the bedroom in flat 4. I have to admit I am being generous with 6 for flat nr 4. As soon as I arrived I noticed the bad smell in the bedroom and no window to change the air. I contacted the landlord who had been always responsive, and asked someone to check the day after, but the bad smell was persistent and impossible to sleep. (It is hard to describe it and to understand where it was coming from, mainly from old fognature system maybe). I also experienced bites of some insects at night and shared pic with booking and them. I asked the cleaner to check the smell and she confirmed, she then called the landlord who suggested to move to flat nr 2, which was smaller and without washing machine, which to me was essential so I refused. After filling complaint to booking, they finally offered to move to flat nr 1, which was clean and without bad smell, and with a window in the bedroom. Flat nr 1 it is perfect and if I had to value that one I would give 10, but my experience for the first 3 nights out of 6 was very unpleasant and affected a lot my holidays. I spent loads of time on phone calls and emails to sort the issue, and had to move apartments after 3 nights, rather than sooner. Had no rembourse or offer to provide discount for those 3 nights. Even though the landlord made me move to another flat, flat nr 4 cannot get more than 6, and I am being generous. I have always left great reviews to previous properties, but this experience really stressed me and I spent the first 3 nights with that terrible smell that couldn't go. On top of that, any time I showered, the water was flooding the floor ( but this was mentioned in other reviews so I was fine with it and used the mop). I also mentioned them the clothes dryer was broken (at least I couldn't use it, while the one in flat nr 1 was perfectly working). So I had to use the small one in the balcony
