Cozy Apartment Near Yumbo

The owners have worked to make it feel ‘homely’, providing all - and more - that would be needed for a short stay. The swimming pool, its grounds and availability of sun loungers is excellent. Also very good is the location and neighbouring restaurants, cafes and supermarket.

So here’s the thing: the apartment surrounded by construction works. To the front, rear and beneath. From around 6 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon I was assaulted by the high-pitch screech of industrial machinery cutting bricks and jack-hammering concrete. Neighbours in this very large residential complex told me that the various works had been going on for a little while. I endured it for the first of my 2-week stay, and then decided to move out to a hotel. It really isn’t the rest & recuperation that people anticipate when they spend a lot of money to holiday. The reaction from the apartment manager (who you never meet - all communication is via WhatsApp) was to claim ignorance of the works and remind me that there were no refunds. I hadn’t mentioned money and I think he’d rather missed the point. In his shoes, my instinct would have been to visit the apartment and ask for a meeting with the guest. After all, no rational person packs up and moves half-way through a holiday stay at considerable extra cost and foregoing the money they’ve already spent for no reason. A shame really, people don’t go on holiday looking for negative experiences, but this really was. I moved to the nearby hotel Rondo, which I would heartily recommend.

The apartment is prepared for the guest in every detail. Everywhere very clean. Great contact with the owner. The kitchen is perfectly equipped. Liquids and soaps are available to guests in the bathroom. There was air conditioning in the bedroom and living room. Safe and quiet so you can really relax. Next to the complex there is a supermarket and restaurants. I recommend and will definitely come back.
