Wind In The Willows: Sleeps 4, Kitchen, bathroom, lounge, WIFI

We self catered and were very slightly compromised by the limited range of cooking utensils. The access track was long and not tarmaced , but a reasonably smooth surface. The upside of this was that on the way out in the evening and returning later, we spotted muntjac, hares, rabbits and young partridges. There is very little light pollution in the night sky, so great for stargazing on a clear night. There were heaters throughout the caravan which we did not need. The beds were comfortable.

Location was good for me, but would be remote for some being quite a way off the main road. Plenty of space to walk my dog. Very quiet location, lovely horses on the property too.

Quite a few of the window catches were loose and the door catch on the exterior lounge door, there to keep the door securely open, appeared to be broken. All the facilities worked OK. I could not contact Ruth on arrival on the farm track as arranged but managed to contact the main house and the gentleman who answered gave me directions. But apart from that, all was OK.

Comfortable lounge and beds, clean throughout, quiet private spot

Some of the kitchen items were lacking, namely only 3 glasses and we were a group of 4, no tea towel. No bath towels but I thought description said they were provided. Poor directions for the location of the property. More detail would make this much easier.

I had booked a two-night stay but was forced to leave after just one night due to the extremely poor, unhygienic, and unsafe conditions of the property. I strongly believe this listing should be reviewed immediately by the Booking.com team, as it falls far below acceptable standards and poses potential health and safety risks. Please see photos. Here is a summary of the issues: * The caravan was generally grubby and poorly maintained. * No smoke alarm present in the property (although there was a fire extinguisher and blanket). * Shower filthy with mould covering every surface. * Mould also present on blinds & curtains in both the bathroom and lounge area. * Oven racks & pans were dirty; hob plates were rusty. * Kitchen & bedroom light fitting was full of dead flies. * Lounge light was exposed – no glass cover. * Stains on the bathroom walls; * Bath mat was dirty. * Stains on the carpet and random dirty rugs placed around. * Dining table was dangerously unstable – one leg was tied together with thin rope. * Mugs were chipped. * Dogs were running off-lead around the site – a safety warning should have been provided. The overall state of cleanliness and disrepair made the stay feel unsafe and unpleasant. I was so concerned by the level of filth and safety hazards that I chose not to stay the second night and immediately laundered everything that had come into contact with any surface. I even washed my dog’s paws. This experience was not at all what I expect from a Booking.com property.

Absolutely nothing apart the warm welcome from the farm dog.

Disgusting state it was left in from the previous users and wasn't even cleaned when we arrived. Tried to contact the owners several times but had no answer or reply. We left the property with the benefit of doubt of returning later in hope that it was cleaned but on later arrival it was still in the same state. Rubbish everywhere, unwashed bedding, dirty shower and toilet, food waste in the sink, mould on the curtains and window frames, damp musty stench. Air vents and lighting broken, flies and bugs in air vents. The outside bbq was used and coal left all over the floor. No contact with the owners to resolve anything. Charging £190 for 2 nights with this level of non existent cleanliness and lack of contact with the owners is a joke. Needless to say we left the property and found a lovely country B&B which we had a very pleasant stay in.

I booked Wind in The Willows for a short break that needed to be close the Warwick. We loved the peace and quiet. The caravan was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed.
