Nice apartament, just like in photos, good location, close to the center and beach. We found bottles of water in the fridge. Two markets close by, restaurants and few tavernas, souvenir shops, also a pharmacy really close, open even on Sunday for a few hours. Nice beach, 4 min to walk to, sand and stones, you might need special shoes, two sunbeds and one umbrela 12-15 euros.

Not very nice and friendly hosts, we had an hour flight delay from Athens, as soon as we landed in Kefalonia, i changed the check in time, because of the flight delay and by their response, they were not very happy with it. Yes, i know,it was 15th of August, Virgin Maria, big holiday in Greece, but not our fault for the delay. When we finally arrived at the apartment, the host was waiting for us,but not even a smile during the time he took us up. He did not make a proper check in, i mean to let us know some information, for example that the hair dryer is only working if the light in the bathroom is on, we find out ourselves about this on the 5th day there. Very bad smell in the apartment, every day and night,in both bedrooms and living, don’t know from where, maybe from the woods ftom the apartment. Quite noisy at night, some nights until 3-4 in the morning, loud air conditioner. Only one time cleaning per our one week stay, we had to take the trash out by ourselves, because no one was coming to take it and no one explained us if we have to do it , where to take it, again figured out by ourselves!

I’ll start with the good news. The apartment is lovely. It is tastefully furnished and comfortable. The bad news is the hosts'personalities. It's a great place to stay if you enjoy being yelled at by your host for ten minutes straight upon arrival, after waiting in the street in 40-degree heat with your luggage because your flight was delayed, and you had to find your way to a strange town by taxi. Our "host"; could not understand why we were upset at finding no one there to greet us when we arrived. They knew our estimated time of arrival but apparently didn’t care that there would be no one there to let us in. When we arrived, we found all the doors locked and the downstairs café shut. There was no message, mention or even a handwritten note on the door telling us where to go or when someone would arrive to greet us. Instead, when he finally showed up, Mr Nikos yelled at us for not having enough "patience" to wait outside for half an hour. I was chided again later, this time via whatsapp from Ms Rania, for "alarming the entire neighbourhood". This was because we had asked a charming and helpful young lady in the souvenir shop next door if she knew when the hosts would arrive and how we could contact them. She tried calling them several times, too, but no one answered. This was not “the entire neighborhood,” just one helpful soul! We had also sent emails and phoned the owners, but received no response. We were more than ready to look for alternative accommodation, but our seven-day stay had been booked and fully paid for in advance, with no possibility of a refund, so we were at the mercy of these sarcastic, aggressive and totally inhospitable "hosts". Our penthouse was at the top of an extremely long and steep outdoor staircase. It was a very difficult climb for my 77-year-old companion, who has limited mobility. (Those stairs are not mentioned on their website.).

I had texted the hosts to inform them that our flight from Athens to Kefalonia would arrive at around 3 pm. It’s a very small airport and there are only two flights a day from the capital. The flight was delayed. It wasn't our fault, but once Mr Nikos showed up, he wouldn't stop yelling at us as if it were our fault that our flight was delayed. It was delayed slightly. He continued shouting as he let us into the apartment and wouldn’t stop until my companion coaxed him out the door. He didn't explain anything about the apartment, give us the Wi-Fi code or offer any information about Skala or how to get around: the sort of welcome one would normally expect when arriving in a new town for the first time. When I texted Ms Rania, the "hostess", her first response was "WE ARE NOT A HOTEL. I DON’T ANSWER THE PHONE BETWEEN 3 AND 6 PM!!!" In other words, “Don’t bother us!” She had never notified me about her personal telephone schedule. Whether it’s a hotel or a private apartment is not very clear when the place is called "Skala Pearls SOFITA" on the Booking site. "SOFITA" kind of sounds a bit "hotel-ish" wouldn't you say? Also, don’t expect to sleep before 2:30 am, as there is noise and music coming from downstairs every night. In any case, these people are the complete opposite of what one would expect from hospitality professionals. I'll never stay here again. ADDITION to my previous comment: the response of the host is a bunch of lies and I feel terribly offended by the things written. We did not let a mess and we did not break anything. There was nothing to clean the apartment and since no one came during 8 days it is pretty normal that the place need to be cleaned. The response of the host is a testimony about how awful these people are!

Perfectly placed for a great holiday! Right in the centre of Skala village and everywhere is walkable. My son and his friends had a great month at this property. Loads of space for four people. Well equipped and all appliances in good working order. The hosts were always on hand if required, and the property provided incredible value for money considering the length of stay and facilities available. The pizzas available in the owners restaurant downstairs were amazing and an added bonus!!!

There wasn’t anything to complain about. Future bookers should note that this apartment is in the loft space and there are a considerable amount of stairs so unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues.

Spotlessly clean, great location, very spacious and well equipped apartment, our hosts were very accommodating. They even let us stay until 7pm the day we left for €50 as our flight was late that evening.

The location was very well situated in the heart of town, sometimes music from the bars was slightly noisy until 1 am, if you want to sleep early this could be an issue for you.
