New and well furnished studio apartment for two 30 km from Kirkjubæjarklaustur Perfect place to stay at right between Black beach and Jökulsárlón

It’s a brand new cottage with everything you need. Comfortable, well arranged.

When in the area we received an sms from the civil protection to evacuate the area as there was a risk of flood and poisonous gases. When I asked to the owner, she just laughed and said we were not in danger. She did not provide any additional information. We thought it was better to follow the instructions of the civil protection and left early.

please note that there is no hot water, I had to take a cold shower and the owner clearly doesn’t mind. it’s expensive to have a cold shower so I recommend to look for another place nearby.

There is no proper pathway to the house so you need to carry your luggage if you do not want it to be dirty, there is no proper place near the door to leave your shoes so the area in front of the kitchen gets dirty very easy and from there the whole apartment. They did not clean the place during our stay either. There is no privacy in this house and since I was traveling with a coworker I barely knew, it was unpleasant. From the photos online I thought that the bedroom is separate. You cannot even lock the bathroom room and everything is tiny. The beds are only 80 cm wide and approx 180 long. The kitchen is tiny. So there is really nothing luxurious about this place.
