La Casa de Mansilla

Adorable apartment that is clean, right on the Plaza, has a front loading washing machine, small fridge, and stove. I honestly, didn't want to leave. It was such a great place to stay.

Wonderful clean apartment overlooking a plaza. The host is lovely, very helpful and responds to messages quickly. We are walking the Camino so enjoyed the break from eating menus of the day and instead cooked - fresh vegetables, potatoes and pan fried chicken - such a welcome change. There is a large supermarket (Lupa) just outside the old town. The kitchen provided all our needs including a fridge. The bed is very comfortable, the shower water hot (shower over the bathtub, just need to be careful when getting in and out). It was great having a washing machine and drying rack. We didn't need the heating, but the apartment had electric heating and even a heated towel rail. The village is very interesting to look around. We had a refreshing swim at the beatiful river which is about 10 minutes walk from the apartment To access the river go to the pedestrian bridge which takes you to a park then through to a beach area. Mass in the church 2 minutes walk from the apartment. We really enjoyed our stay here, highly recommend.

The 1-2pm check in is quite limited. We were worried that we may not walk fast enough to be there by 2pm. However when I communicated this to the host she was flexible to 3pm.

The picture showed a table with four chairs and I was excited to have a friend over for dinner. But the host informed me that I was not allowed to have anybody else on the property except myself. It seemed a little narrow, I can understand not having parties and of course it’s her property but having one person over to cook with should not have been a problem and I was not aware that this was a rule ahead of time. So you have this entire apartment to yourself and although it’s very clean, it’s also very lonely.

If you are walking the Camino, this is the place for you. I love having a kitchen and I went to the supermarket down the street and got groceries which is next to the laundromat and that was really great. Laura the host goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable and I can’t recommend it enough. I have stayed here a few times and I will keep coming back.

This was an amazing place right on Camino. The host was amazing. Loved it!

The location during the day is great. Right in front of the plaza. The apartment was spacious with a good size kitchen and a washing machine.

As others have said, it is not clearly marked so it took me a while to find it. I finally saw a small number 11 in the building which told me I was in the right place. I couldn’t sleep because of the traffic going right it front of the building all night long. It was Holy Week so maybe this was just bad timing. No one else has mentioned the smell of cigarettes smoke in the towels and bed linens. It was so strong I had to use my own towels but I had no choice but to use the linens. I only got a few hours sleep due to the smell and noise and I had a long walk the next day on the Camino.
