Casa Imeldo y Eloisa

Ein wunderbar rustikales, sehr gemütliches und großes Appartment, liebevoll eingerichtet, an den Wänden hängen Imeldos Bilder aus fünf Jahrzehnten. Es liegt inmitten eines riesigen Gartens, ebenfalls mit zahlreichen kleinen Kunstwerken geschmückt, in herrlich ruhiger Umgebung. Die beiden liebenswerten Gastgeber wohnen im ersten Stock, wenn sie nicht gerade auf Reisen sind. Die Wohnung ist gut ausgestattet und hat ein modernes Bad. Gegen winterliche Kühle hilft gegebenenfalls ein Kaminofen. Wir haben den Aufenthalt dort sehr genossen und würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Nur ein Hinweis: Die Koordinaten auf der Booking-Seite sind aktuell fehlerhaft, die richtigen schickt Eloisa vorab. My second time here - my previous visit a few years ago had very bad weather so I thought I would try again! Much better this time round. The apartment is as before, a lovely place to sit and spend time when you're not out exploring the island. I enjoyed sitting on the large sofa working on my photo edits while glancing out of the window occasionally. Sadly I missed meeting the owner once again, but they were responsive and helpful via WhatsApp for any queries. The housekeeper met me to check all was well and we google-translated ourselves ok. I really should learn a bit of Spanish though.

Nothing really. Sometimes the internet would cut out and I had to unplug the router and reconnect, then it was fine. Maybe the downside of a rural location... But it was mostly fine.

Hemos estado 6 noches alojados y hemos podido disfrutar de un alojamiento en plena naturaleza donde disfrutas de mucha tranquilidad y silencio. Por las noches también se pueden ver unos cielos espectaculares. El alojamiento es muy confortable con todo lo necesario. Eloisa e Imeldo son grandes personas que te hacen sentir como si estuvieras en tu casa y te ayudan en lo que necesites. 100% recomendable.

I found the house easily, with good directions- the hosts were off-island when I arrive and had arranged for someone to meet me and hand over the keys. This person didn't speak English, but we communicated fine with Google Translate :) Sadly I visited during a really bad storm and couldn't leave the house for 2.5 days, so it was good to have somewhere comfortable to stay. The kitchen had everything I needed apart from a sieve (I bought a cheap one and left it there!) Once I could explore, the house is located well, quite central on the island, so it was easy to get to different places. Facing east, you get nice light at sunrise. The garden is lovely but with the bad weather I didn't get to use it really. There's a supermarket in the nearby town which had most stuff I needed. The hosts were responsive on WhatsApp with any questions I had.

I guess the only problem was the millipedes that come into the house sometimes - I scooped them up on paper and put them outside but sometimes they were quite insistent on coming in through small gaps in the window! This seems to affect the whole island, I went to a cafe and there were loads there too! Perhaps it was because of the rain?
