Wild Northumberland Glamping

Very tranquil farm & open countryside setting, but in easy reach of Hadrian's Wall, Kielder Water, Hexham and the Northumberland coast, all of which we visited in our 5 days. Attractive and well-equipped pod with excellent views - well screened from other 2 pods on site. We enjoyed watching sheep being moved across the farm and the hay harvest. Quiet, with dark skies.

Double bed was a little small for us.

Location, Views, Zero light pollution. Underfloor heating and hot water in the shower.

Takes hours for the host to respond if you have an issue, no signal on tv they know this but don’t tell you prior to stay, Tiny Bed with strong smell of damp, towels damp, luckily we’d taken our own, Pod is dirty from outside in, photos attached had a lot more could only add 4. Take extra fire wood we got left all of an hours worth. Don’t follow the walks in the welcome pack, you will have to walk directly on the A68 no paths.

Location

Inadequate cooking pots, pans, bowls, cutlery. Bedding had a strange smell. Very basic no nice welcoming touches - could be cleaner

Loved the location, so peaceful and lovely views

It wasn’t that clean. The windows in the door you could see had not been cleaned for a long time and the shower had some mould / black marks in the shower and outside on the floor.

If you've not been glamping before, but have seen the extreme versions on TV, eg 300 yard walk to compost loo and shared shower, think again. Our pod had ensuite facilities. Large shower area, loo and wash basin. The bed and sofa bed were very comfy, There was cutlery and crockery for 4 people, easily managed hob, little electric oven toaster and kettle as well as satellite tv The views are fantastic over the Northumbrian hills. At night (on a clear night which we didn't see) the stars are apparently brilliant. There is a fire pit and starter pack outside, and trestle table and forms to eat al fresco or take in the views/ stars. There is no wifi, but the local pub is only a fifteen minute walk/ five minute drive and has wifi available, as well as meals if you can't be bothered to self cater. All in all a very pleasant experience
