"Top Notch Stay"

10.0

"Just spent an amazing weekend at this gem of a farmstay in Punjab! 😊 The hospitality was top-notch, and the food - oh man, the food was straight fire! The rooms were cozy, and the farm was so peaceful. Loved the activities like tractor rides and farm tours. Perfect getaway from the city life. Highly recommend!"

"Very Good"

7.0

We spent two nights on this premise, and while Day 1 was genuinely enjoyable from the airport pickup, warm hospitality, tractor tour, short dance session, and dinner, day 2 was just not great. We had shared the activities we wanted, like a train ride and nearby visits, and the host assured us he would arrange them, but on Day 2 nothing happened; he simply said he had to work and left us to his wife and 14-year-old son, and language was a barrier. Our trip to a nearby temple was beautiful, but the driver was grumpy and unfriendly, and we were back within 1.5 hours with nothing else planned. The rest of the day felt wasted as we lounged around with no guidance, and even the walk we were taken on was disappointingly short. The host’s empty promises and lack of continuity was disappointing, as we were passed from person to person instead of being properly hosted from start to end. For the price paid, I wouldn’t recommend an overnight stay, only perhaps a short day visit.

"GREAT EXPERIENCE! GREAT PEOPLE"

8.0

Very authentic punjabi 100 yr old house converted into a farmstay. Downright village vibe. Family run business. Not too far from the lush green fields. Basic rooms. Nice and clean.

Liked almost everything. However, the daily groups of village tour are visiting throughout the day which makes the property crowded and affects the service and attention to the guest needs. I wish they keep the goup welcome area and the stay rooms separate. Payment facilities are limited to cash or gpay which makes it difficult for credit card users. People looking for gloss and five star or hotel type if amenities should not go there.

Visiting Amritsar was in our bucket list for a long time- experiencing the self-sustaining Punbjabi villages, seeing Golden Temple Jalian Walah Bagh and Kartapur corridor, viewing the retreat ceremony at Attari border, walking tours and many more. We told our plan to Tasrem Singh and he arranged everything. Our time with Virasat e Punjab farmstay was the most excited and memorable event happened during our stay in Amritsar. Tarsem Singh, his wife Jasmeet Kaur, brother Amandeep Singh, mother Navneet Kaur and son Jivanjot Singh have given us a traditional hospitality at their home. Tying the thread on the right hand, wearing turban, enjoying with Punjabi chai and lassi, the sumptuous dinner arranged by Jasmeet Kaur, martial arts performed by Jivanjot and the cultural dances by Amandeep are all true memorable experiences that we received at the village residence run by the family. Tarsem took us to the farms and explained the details of agricultural methods, harvesting, different crop varieties- all reflects the traditions which are still part of the rural Punjabi life. We rode to the farm in his tractor and it moved along the alleyways of the village. On the way, we met many elders, villagers and children- a unique and refreshing experience. At one time, he gave us the driving seat to drive the tractor ride which will never be forgotten in our life. Tarsem has sound knowledge on the history of Punjab and explained to us the details of many historical events happened in Punjab during the pre and post independent India. He is a skilled photographer and photo credits to all our pictures in Amritsar goes to none other person than Tarsem himself. The warmth of hospitality shown by Jasmeet Kaur is truly commendable. She is energetic, enthusiastic and always smiling- she plans meticulously everything in the home to give a lovely hospitality to their guest.

"Best stay in Amritsar"

10.0

We visited the Virasat e Punjab farmstay in june2024. Right from the welcome rituals, kite flying, turban tying, farm tour to the pakoras, chai and finger licking lunch specially sarson da saag and makke si roti, we thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with the Singh family. They have a 100 year old house which has witnessed the partition of India and is very well maintained. Mr. Singh introduced us to the Punjabi culture and Punjabi village system by touring around the village. Riding tractor was one of our favorite part of the trip. You also get to visit the farms and to enjoy the taste of raw veggies like fresh and tender peas and radishes , we also had sarso ka saag makki roti in dinner It gives a glimpse of what a village in punjab looks like along with the heartwarming hospitality. Its a must to do visit if you are planning to visit amritsar and want to spend a day at a Punjab village and experience the local culture and authentic ghar ka khana. Its a home away from home. We look forward to visiting the Virasat e Punjab farmstay again when we are in amritsar next.

"Most recommended place to stay"

10.0

If you ever visit Amritsar do not miss this highly recommended place. The booking process is easy and the place is very near to the city. Once you reach you are given a warm welcome by Mr. Tarsem Singh. A beautiful walk across the fields, will set the tone for the remaining tour. A warm welcome at home with some lip-smacking Lassi and pakode made herself by wife of Tarsem Singh. A much awaited tractor tour across the fields where you can yourself drive the tractor if you wish to. A game of gulli danda will surely take you back to your childhood. Upon returning home you are served by delicious village food. The hospitality is amazing and the village house is neat and clean. The rooms were well maintained and had all the required amenities. A must visit place for a beautiful village life experience.

"Glimpse into Authentic Village Life"

10.0

From the bustling streets of Amritsar, a mere 30-minute drive transported my family and me into the heart of Punjab's countryside - a serene village named Gharowal. Despite being Punjabi by heritage, my wife, two-year-old child, and I have primarily lived city lives. Yearning for a genuine experience of farm life in Punjab, we stumbled upon a hidden gem recommended by a friend. Upon contacting the place via Google, Tarsem Singh, the owner, warmly described what awaited us. Our late evening arrival did nothing to dampen the spirits of Tarsem Singh's family, who greeted us with open arms into their traditional Punjabi home. This wasn't just any house, but a centuries-old dwelling featuring a classic courtyard and an imposing tree, offering a slice of history and tradition. The hospitality we received was nothing short of remarkable. From the multi-generational welcome committee to the delicious, freshly prepared dinner under the stars, every detail was thoughtfully curated to appeal to all senses - the aroma of incense, the soothing background of Punjabi music, and the visually pleasing traditional decor. Our room was comfortable, complete with complimentary fruits and snacks, showcasing the unparalleled Punjabi hospitality. The highlight of our stay, however, was the village tour led by Tarsem Singh on his vintage tractor. It offered us a vivid picture of village life, from meeting village elders at the panchayat to exploring ancient travelers' rooms and marveling at the lush Punjab farms. A surprise awaited us in a nearby field - traditional games like Gili Danda, tree climbing, and more, creating a playful and bonding experience for my son and us with other visitors and locals. Our experience at Gharowal Village, guided by Tarsem Singh and his family, was more than just a stay; it was a deep dive into the heart of Punjabi culture and hospitality.
