Nice small hotel with good facilities.

The location is a bit remote and had to use the car to go to a restaurant or anything else.

Casa d'Amares was one of the highlights of our time in Portugal. In fact, we would happily return to Portugal just for the opportunity to stay here again. The hospitality was exceptional from start to finish. The staff were incredibly attentive, kind, and caring, spoke excellent English, and made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. Their warmth and attention to detail set this hotel apart. Our room was spacious, modern, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, with a lovely balcony overlooking the vineyard. The bathroom was equally generous in size, with a large walk-in shower, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Breakfast was outstanding and a real highlight of our stay. Freshly baked breads and pastries were served each morning, including delicious Portuguese tarts, while eggs were cooked to order. There was also freshly squeezed orange juice, with oranges pressed on-site in the breakfast room each morning. The quality and freshness of the food were exceptional. Complimentary tea, coffee, and water were available throughout the day. We chose to have dinner at the hotel one evening and only wished we had done so every night. Having travelled fairly extensively around the world, we can honestly say it was better than most restaurant meals we have ever had. Many of the ingredients were picked fresh from the property's own grounds, and the quality, flavour, and care that went into each dish were evident. With its beautiful gardens, large swimming pool, sports facilities, and truly outstanding hospitality, Casa d'Amares is a special place that we cannot recommend highly enough.

Excelente pequeno-almoço, atendimento, limpeza, conforto de cama, almofadas e lençóis de alta qualidade. Excedeu completamente as expetativas.

Casa d’Amares exceeded expectations and proved to be an excellent base from which to explore the Minho region of northern Portugal. Recently refurbished, the property blends modern comfort with the character and warmth of a family-owned estate, and in reality the hotel is considerably more impressive than the photographs suggest. The service throughout our stay was consistently excellent. The family ownership is clearly reflected in the atmosphere of the property, while the staff were professional, discreet, attentive and genuinely welcoming. Housekeeping and cleanliness standards were of a particularly high level across the entire hotel. The food offering was another highlight. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all had a homemade quality with thoughtful regional touches rather than feeling formulaic or “hotel standard”. The wine tasting accompanied by local cheeses was exceptional and substantial enough to constitute a complete meal in itself. Poolside and bar service was efficient yet unobtrusive, contributing to the relaxed rhythm of the stay. From a location perspective, Casa d’Amares works extremely well as a base for exploring northern Portugal. Braga is within easy reach for a half-day cultural visit, while Guimarães, Ponte de Lima and wineries such as Quinta do Ameal are all comfortably accessible by car, making it ideal for travellers interested in history, wine, gastronomy and slower-paced regional exploration beyond Porto.

The only area where a minor improvement could be made would be enhanced soundproofing between some rooms.

Zeer uitgebreid en persoonlijk. Zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaak personeel. Communicatie via WhatsApp was ook super goed. Fantastische omgeving, goede kamer, lekker bed...enz.

Klein puntje was dat ik geen Airco heb gevonden op de kamer, dus verkoelen/luchten was alleen mogelijk m.b.v. het openen van ramen.

Heerlijke plek voor onze rondreis in Portugal. Heerlijk ontbijt, mooie plek.
