Nicoletta was friendly and helpful. No air conditioning (as advertised) but kindly provided a fan for our room, and recommended restaurants for my other half’s birthday dinner. Powerful shower. Spacious, clean apartment with comfortable bed. Private fridge and freezer. Nice wooden beam ceilings. Plenty of free parking space available. Short walk to town. Beautiful mountains and historic building.

Very noisy road directly outside even with windows shut, although the traffic is not constant at night. Would benefit greatly from air conditioning. It was very hot (we were there in midsummer during an unusual heatwave), and proximity of road means you can’t sleep with windows open for the noise. Better blinds on windows and some minor repairs needed. Parking is on the other side of gorge away from apartment entrance, so it can difficult to get large bags to the room - down gravel path, up onto a narrow metal walkway by the road over uneven flagstones and up the stairs. Walking to the town is possible, but next to a fast road, path not well maintained and overgrown in places.

The people did everything to support me

The location is right near the trail head along the pretty aqueduct trail that goes above the gorge into the old town. Good communication with host, although we didn’t meet him due to his personal emergency. Clean. Useful basic kitchen. Good heating in cold weather. Basic and good value for a less central location

We liked the 10 min walk to the apartment (once outside the old city walls), but be aware: it’s uphill along the river on a busy rural road. There’s no sidewalk along part of it, so a little sketchy with suitcase and rain! After a long day, it’s a hike home, but fine for travelers who like to walk off their pasta! ;-)

It was close to the city centre with free parking on the site. It was clean and friendly staff.

The beds were very uncomfortable. I really got backache.
