Casa de Pascoaes Historical House

It’s a family owned property for generations and is a total time capsule. It’s full of history and the grounds and views are incredible

Very little but do be aware the beds and plumbing are of the period. There’s nothing wrong with this but it may not be what you are used to.

Wonderful building and interiors, incredibly nice and welcoming host

Now this was a very unusual but pleasant experience in a very old castle/house. Never have stayed in anything quite like it before. The owners were very welcoming and everything was lovely including the breakfast. The property could be a little bit scary for someone on their own.

Like stepping back in time! This is a unique place to stay. Full of art, books and character. The owners extended a wonderful welcome to us and we were delighted to be shown the old kitchen and chapel the next day too. A great place to rest, where you can enjoy the gardens, vineyards and lovely views.

This is an old house, so plumbing is not up to modern standards. But this didn’t spoil our enjoyment of the place - it’s somewhere we’ll remember for a long time to come.

it’s historical value. I particularly searched for this house as I’m a great admirer of the poet Teixeira de Pascoaes.

given the historical relevance of the site it should be granted institutional support of some kind.

The breakfast is just fantastic and the host is extremely sweet and accommodating.

Admittedly, we weren´t sure about the stay when we drove down the driveway, but once inside it is pretty incredible. Don´t turn back :)
