Dishonest owner, high crime area. Unlike the owner I am fair and honest so I'll start by saying the accommodation was very nice, but we had a terrible experience here. We booked for 2 nights via Booking.com. On arrival the owner reiterated and stressed safety and security, arriving here having travelled through Africa for the past 7 months on a motorbike I am very much aware of security issues and am always very selective about where I stay, but I have not heard anyone emphasise this so much. This left me slightly concerned, but I was told they have never had a problem before and they didn't want to have a first time. I removed everything removable from the motorbike and covered it up as usual. The next morning. I immediately noticed the cover had been removed and non removable things had been forcibly removed, 100s of euros worth of theft and damage. The first of any kind in my 7 month world trip. Very disappointed, I contacted the owner by text. She offered a text apology and an extra nights free stay with an offer to put the bike in a cellar. She did not feel the need to come and speak or apologise or even ask what had happened in person even when she walked past our cottage. I felt this was a little rude and very unpersonal, as a paying guest, and a victim of crime on her property, I would have expected her to make an appearance. Hours later I went to find her. During this conversation it became apparent that they are very much aware of in her words "cockroaches" entering the grounds at night to take what they can, explaining they took her chair pillows last week. "welcome to South Africa" she said. The opposite of her comments about never having theft related problems before. I asked her about what security measures they have as I noticed a cctv camera, I was told the cameras do not work and they no longer have security as they can not be everywhere at once and the thief's will just target where the guards are not.

The staff was very friendly..The lady of the Accommodation was truly nice..and is such a caring person.. i legit felt at home and safe and cared for on this weekend. As we were a young couple away from home attending an event and it felt like we had our mother right there even being far from home would recommend this Accommodation to anyone. And defently going back .

Remote setting and beautifully maintained gardens. Lovely walkways and peaceful. Both our rooms had an en suite which was a fabulous surprise! That a starter pack of firefighters and wood was available and not charged as an extra.

Knowing the host does have your best interests at heart we did find that all the safety precautions left us feeling vulnerable.
