Sergio and Catarina were wonderful hosts welcoming us with cake and other nice details. They also upgraded us to the bigger house to make sure we could extend our stay if we wanted to do so. The house has a pallet stove as well as AC heating which was really helpful as the nights in January can get very cold. The kitchen has everything one could ask for, the garden is beautiful as is the pool. The region is amazing with so many gorgeous trails for hiking to waterfalls and swimming ponds, we saw wild horses and many other animals. We would happily come back for a longer stay if we’re ever in the area again.

This house is amazing, and Sergio and Catarina are the most welcoming hosts. Seeing the potential in the burned house, Sergio bought it and, over the course of three years, rebuilt it to a high, modern specification and tastefully decorated it including, even, custom embroidered towels. It's situated in the tiny village of Sobredo, hidden from the "main" street. I thought Google must have sent us to the wrong location as most of the houses look derelict. But no, Sergio walked to meet us where I'd parked and led us back to the house. It feels isolated but it's only a 25-minute drive to Ponte de Barca and a Pingo Doce hypermarket. It's serene and quiet. The loudest noise is made by the birds, including a cuckoo.

It's tricky to adjust the shower the first time you use it but then it's great.

Outstanding place to stay. Beautiful village, welcoming hosts, comfortable house and lots of green mature arround. I would have loved to spend some more time here!

We had the most wonderful stay at Casinhas da Levada. First of all, the house is a true little gem, and is located in such a picturesque village in the heart of peneda park. But what makes this house even more precious are the hosts who made everything for our stay to be magical. They prepared the house for us by setting up the fireplace and lighting up candles, and they even prepared a cake and nice intentions as they knew it was my birthday. It was truly the perfect place to spend a few special days, and I will keep this house in my dreams forever. We are so grateful to the host for their kindness and generosity.

A very quiet location to get away from it all. The bathroom and kitchen were to a very high standard. The bed was very comfortable, some might find it a little on the firm side.

A little difficult to find, if you do not have the photos of the location available to you. It did not help that we were late arriving and it was getting dark which made it harder to find.

This place was magical for us. The village looks like a place time has forgotten. In contrast, the house is charming and the owners have done a wonderful job of restoring it with modern conveniences and comforts. Accessing the house through the narrow village roads added to the charm :) Communication with Catarina was great and she provided photos and gps location to ensure a smooth arrival and check in. There are local trails for walking and many more within driving distance. We found quality restaurants within 1/2 hr and grocery stores enroute if your goal is to eat meals at the casinhas. This would be a great home base if you were interested in staying longer and exploring/hiking more both in Portugal and Spain.

Stayed for 3 nights, wish it was longer! Beautifully restored home with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay, including a recently installed outdoor pool. The village was quaint and perfect for a relaxing get away. The surrounding areas were breathtaking. The hosts were wonderful. Highly recommend!
