Pátio do Xisto

Beautiful rooms, the swimming pool is very nice. Pátio do Xisto has a tiny restaurant with the best chanfana in Portugal!

Clean and quiet.

For dinner, we picked “chanfana” and “lombo” and the lady said that it was ok. At the time of dinner, we actually only had chanfana, because she said that she would not cook lombo just for one person. And it didn’t look like it was freshly cooked. We asked for water, and we needed to pay it. A little bottle was 1.25€. (I sent an email one week prior our arrive to make sure we didn’t need to pay anything else so this charge was a bad surprise). At breakfast, we requested a refill in our juice, but we only had half glass, because the lady didn’t want to open a new jar of juice. The stay was nice, the lady who owns the place was nice, but it needs a bit more effort and knowledge about how to run this kind of business.

Friendly owner and staff, comodity, interior design, traditional food

For those who want a beautiful view, a quiet place, in front of nature. The residents are receptive and you have the impression of a trip back in time, towards the past. Very suitable for those who want to disconnect from the busy life in big cities. Also a nice place for couples.

Two negative points to consider. 1 - In food, the cost x benefit was much lower than expected. Meals cost above average, which is understandable, however, portions are small, whether for dinner or breakfast. 2 - Although we requested the invoice on behalf of the taxpayer, after almost 20 days, we have not received it.
