The chandelier that’s hanging so low, our heads kept on bumping to it.

We absolutely loved Staandakkie Cottage. Vicki was so warm, welcoming and caring. She gave us a lot of very useful information about where to go and what to do. It is a good base for exploring De Hoop, Struisbaai, Arniston and L'Aguilas and Bredasdorp. Around the farm the bird life was abundant too. Just sitting in the garden was good for spotting some beautiful varieties . The cottage is just lovely, comfortable and obviously prepared with a lot of love and care. The gravel road was no problem for our little VW Polo hire car and well worth it to be in such a beautiful place, off the beaten track but not too far from tourist attractions. We would definitely book again if visiting the area. Thank you .

Vicky is a charming host , she does the best to welcome you . Delicious South african food .

The host was really nice. The room and bathroom are really nice furnished and well equipped with everthing you need We like the location. It's on a operational farm in the middle of endless grain fields. It was harvest season so the whole area was beautyfull gold colored. The accomodation is about 1 hour on gravel road away from the entrance of nature reserve De Hoop. If you like to stay on a farm, in a nice remote area, this is perfect

Internet was a little unstable so now and then, but further there was nothing we didn't like

the location was definitely off the beaten track, but was stunning. Mornings there are phenomenal...the sound of birds and the sun rising over the stunning fields.

This guest cottage is really closed to the De Hoop. The atmosphere is really cozy and there is everything you need for cooking. The staff is really nice.
