Casale Boschi - Rifugio di Pianura

The property was absolutely stunning, the countryside feeling reminded me of my youth! Marco and Federico were absolutely great hosts, they were friendly and at the same time very professional and accommodating. We had a dinner at their restaurant and the food was delicious, fresh and home made products from their garden. Next morning the breakfast was stunning too, again freshly baked products!

The only downside was the room, it was a bit cold however they gave us a electric heater which warmed the place up.

The hosts are nice And the restaurant has delicious but not exceptional food.

Casale Boschi is absolutely wonderful. We spent three nights here breaking up a visit to Venice on our way to Umbria. This was not a region of Italy I knew well. Marco was really helpful and recommended several places to visit that were off the beaten track, but absolutely beautiful. Emilia Romagna may not be a particularly tourist-y destination, but there is so much to see and do in this region. I have nothing but praise for Casale Boschi. The accommodation was superb. We were in a triple room. Beautifully designed and furnished, very tasteful, high class finish. An amazingly comfy bed. There is no air-conditioning but this is really not a problem as the rooms are very well ventilated and cool as it is an old farmhouse. There was also a high-quality, very powerful tower fan in the room that helped keep things very cool at night. The food was absolutely exceptional. All cooked by Marco, who in my book, is a food genius! The breakfast was out of this world, very special and simply delicious. Lots of different courses, all made fresh. The evening menu changed each night and we were spoilt for choice. 2 of us were vegetarians and they had plenty of options. The food was also very good value price wise. I’ve eaten in lots of Michelin star restaurants in my time and Marcus’ food was just as delicious. There is a great selection of wines and craft beers, again all very reasonably priced. I simply cannot price Casale Boschi enough. Marco went above and beyond to assist us and both he and Federico are so approachable and helpful. We had a simply blissful 4 days ago and we could have happily spent longer here. I’ve stayed in many agriturismo’s in Italy over the past 30 years and this is definitely one of the best, and certainly the best in terms of food. Thank you so much Marco & Federico for a lovely stay. It was peaceful, blissful and incredibly healing for me. I’m looking forward to placing my edicole votive in my garden when I get home!
