Podere Capitignano

The location of this property is so special. It's located up a winding road before you come up a long beautiful drive to the top where you're greeted by restored buildings, a spacious car park and tennis court. The swimming pool is behind the tennis court and the views are just spectacular. We didn't tire of them at all during our trip. We stayed at Cassetta - a studio type apartment with lots of storage space and a private area behind for us to relax and sunbathe. Elisabetta, the custodian is very helpful and just being able to Whatsapp her for clean towels or bedding was so easy. I was surprised at how much Italy recycles and was impressed with the various bins. Michael and Lynn, the owners are incredibly kind with Michael having an encylopedic knowledge of the property, its history and the surrounding areas. We wanted to pick his brain a bit more whilst we were there but we didn't have the chance. Borgo San Lorenzo is a short drive away and we felt that the train to Florence was so easy (just 40 mins). For us it was important to be able to visit the hustle and bustle of the city, but have beautiful Tuscan views to come home to. The apartment was clean and comfortable.

My side of the bed was a bit squeaky. I probably should have said something whilst I was there but I couldn't think how it would have been solved really. My bad. And sadly like a lot of self contained apartments, the kitchen knives need a good sharpening. Other than that this place was faultless!

The owners are very friendly and helpful and speak English. Great location in the hills and with a beautiful view on Borgo San Lorenzo. We liked the tennis court (tennis rackets and balls available!). The accomodation was spacious and nicely decorated. It was a bit too cold to use the swimming pool (we were there end of April) but the pool and its view is awesome.

The apartment is very romantic and beautiful. It's very spacious and they have a fully-equipped kitchen , it's perfect if you want to cook. They also have a washing machine if you want to do the laundry. They also have a dishwasher when you are lazy to wash ypur own dishes. But we didnt use it as we prefer to wash tge dishes by hand. We are in love of this property and we will definitely. We also enjoyed their tennis court. And wverywhere you look is just beyond compared, the views are breathtaking. We met the owner Michael. He is very kind, warm and very accommodating. We told us the brief history of his town and the neighnouring cities. He gave us many tips such as where is the best place to eat for a typical Tuscan dining, etc. Elisabetta who welcomed us upon checkin was very kind and extremely lovely. We definitely felt comfortable, and at ease with them. We almost didnt want to get out to see Florence. We will definitely come back again and will stay longer here to have enough time to go out and enjoy the property at the same time. We really had a very blissfully pleasant and relaxing stay!!!! The only thing we didnt like is that we only stayed for 3 nights. It would be perfect to stay here for a week or a month or even a year!!!!!

Beautiful location, quiet. Good access to the local town of Borgo San Lorenzo. Michael and Lyn are very friendly and accommodating hosts who are keen to ensure you enjoy your stay. They are also a mine of information and advice if needed. Tennis court with racquets supplied. Superb swimming pool. A lovely walk nearby. The apartment came equipped with all we required as well as a washing machine.

We loved it. The property manager Elisabetta is fantastic and communication with her was just easy and uncomplicated. The property is about an hour from Florence, nestled into the hills of Tuscany with a stunning view over Borgo San Lorenzo and the surrounding scenery. It is a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of Pisa or Florence and cools down in the evening with a lovely breeze to help escape the heat. We stayed in the 'Cantina' which is the studio underneath the main villa and it was a lovely set up. We had a small kitchen, bathroom and a huge bedroom, which allowed for the feel of a little vacation cottage and gave us the opportunity to take a break from restaurant food on our trip and make some homecooked meals. The pool is adjacent to the main villa as well and therefore right around the corner from the room which was convenient and after a dip we sat outside the studio, watching the sun set. It was a perfect retreat and we loved every minute of our stay.

Nothing comes to mind. It was exactly what we were hoping for.
