We got a room where there been smoking customers. The smell was terrible. The staff tried to get rid of it by spraying some parfym or something like it. It got worse so if we’d stayed there we’d get a headache. The staff gave us instead a luxury sweet for one night and the next we got a nice normal room. As a compliment they gave us a bottle of wine for the first evening and a second for the road, so in the end the staff was taking good care of us. Thank you

Absolutely stunning area of Tuscany , the hotel stands in the most beautiful surroundings with outstanding views . Breakfast was good , dinner was good , staff in restaurant were great. Room was very clean .

When we arrived at the hotel in the evening we were shown to our room but didn’t feel particularly welcomed, a very standard welcome, not really a personal touch , we were told about meals times as we were walking to the room behind the member of staff so couldn’t really hear her , it felt like she was in a rush . The room card didn’t work and so she used a key but that was an awkward lock and we had to use the key for the rest of our 5 day stay . They did send someone on our last full day to mend it but to no avail. My opinion is the room we stayed in needed a little more luxury for the price . We stayed in a suite . The bed was ok , we’d stayed in more comfortable beds during our month travelling Italy and it only had sheets and a thin duvet , no blanket or thicker cover, no cushions , very basic looking bed , I was actually cold most nights . To be honest the room lacked attention to detail. We asked for an iron / ironing board as there wasn’t one in the room and we were given an old , rickety ironing board, not what we expected for the price of the hotel . It was little things really , like only one tiny bin in the toilet , no other waste bin . We had to keep all the curtains closed when in the room , which was a shame as the view was beautiful, because people were constantly walking past . There was no phone in the room , our room was separate from the main hotel and if we needed anything or wanted to book dinner we had to walk down to reception . It wasn’t a big deal but for the price and standard of the hotel we were surprised there was no phone . Also there was no dressing table area for a woman to sit and dry her hair and do make up . I had to dry my hair standing in the bathroom( not a massive deal but just not great ) and the lighting in the bedroom at the full length mirror was very low . There was a kettle and sachets of tea/ coffee etc ,but no coffee maker , again just the basics , no extras .
