Everything was good

What a treasure. Quiet, friendly, fun place to stay. Groaning with character, owned by the same family since 1600s (family tree on the dining room wall fascinating). But still manages to have a decent shower and AC in the bedroom. We were the only guests in this always intimate place that night, but the delightful owner still agreed to prepare us a delicious three course meal, extremely modestly priced. Proper home cooking with fabulous ingredients. Cold inexpensive but perfectly nice wine. Bed was deliciously creaky ( think about your grannies house?), but very comfortable. We slept heavily. The following morning her capable charming son cooked and served us a really memorable breakfast. Fresh local ingredients, none of your plastic packaged butter and jam here. Plate of meats, juices, fresh bread, jug of milk, fresh apple juice, and then a huge frying pan arrived with five fresh eggs nestling in it just for us! He couldn’t do enough for us and offered more food and coffee than could be managed. After a series of below average breakfast buffets in the few days previously ( some at hotels with many stars..) this was such a nice change. Interesting environment too, we enjoyed chatting with the horses and little foal..

There is nothing we didn’t like. It’s a jewel.

Very comfortable for an overnight stay, next time we stay longer! The hospitality of the hosts is heart warming. And all the animals around are lovely to see.
