La Casetta di Valentina

Posizione comoda, con ottima visita della maremma e verso il mare, isola del Giglio inclusa. Menzione speciale al ristorante veramente buono anche se un pò costoso sui vini presi al calice per i quali non vengono dichiarati i costi preventivamente (almeno se si usufruisce della mezza pensione...). Presenza della piscina e spazi esterni a disposizione di tutte le camere

Non vi è la possibilità di avere una culla che abbiamo dovuto portarci noi e per la quale era stato fatto spazio sotto il condizionatore (?!) che si poteva solo spegnere o accendere e non regolare. Pulizia delle camere da rivedere completamente, presenti numerose ragnatele in camera, il mobilio esterno era vecchio e malandato. Nonostante avessimo prenotato la mezza pensione il primo giorno (un sabato) ci è stato detto che non ci sarebbe stato il tavolo per noi e quindi abbiam dovuto arraggiangiarci di sabato in un posto di mare. Mobilio interno vecchio (pomelli per gli asciugamani rotti) e con nessun piano di appoggio tipo mensole, appoggia borse, scrivanie, etc (per chi come noi sta una settimana si rischia di far diventare la camera un accampamento) .Una parte di letto sfondata centralmente, non di certo comoda. Stendino esterno con più fili rotti che intatti. Ultimo punto di demerito il parcheggio scomodo, da rendere più fruibile e che quando affollato dagli avventori del ristorante non assicura il posto a chi ha la camera.

Abbiamo soggiornato qui per una bellissima settimana, ogni angolo della struttura è predisposto per godere di una vista mozzafiato e ogni boccone uscito dal ristorante ,dalla colazione alla cena, per ricordarti quali sono le cose buone e bei momenti da riportare a casa , ahimè a fine vacanza!

Nice location with a fantastic view. Pool area nice for relaxing in the late afternoon. Dinner was excellent along with wine selection. Great service from Rudi and his staff. Good price value.

Walls were paper thin so you can hear the neigbors all the time. Rooms are a bit dark. Bed not so comfortable.

The view from the appartement is beautiful. The restaurant is very good, the service is top quality and the cuisine is local and refined. The wine that Rudi (the owner) suggested was perfectly paired with the food. During our stay at the Casetta di Valentina, we had some major car troubles. Rudi was extremely kind and helpful, we are very grateful to him. He is a truly devoted host! The apartment was simple but very clean. Behind the apartment there is a track that goes up the hill. You can take a lovely hike there (30mins to 2h, depending on how far you go) and the views are breathtaking. The pool is lovely, peaceful and well lit by the sun all day. Day trips from Castiglione della Pescaia include: San Gimignano, Sienna, …

We loved the property and do not have any criticisms of the place. However, here are a few tips for future guests: - bring mosquito repellent (body spray and candles). The mosquitos only come out at a very specific time of the evening (at sunset, for a couple of hours) but it’s better to be fully prepared because there are a lot of them. - the apartment does not have any condiment in it so take salt&pepper, oil, coffee, etc. The garden has rosemary, sage, thyme in it so no need to buy herbs tho ;) - although the place is generally super quite, I’d still bring earplugs for light sleepers, just in case, it’s the countryside so you may have a dog barking or things like that. - About Castiglione della Pescaia: the lower part of the village (with the marina) is cute but nothing crazy. However, walk 3mins upwards and you’ll discover a gorgeous and buzzing village with restaurants, breathtaking views on the sea and marina, old buildings, etc. It’s really beautiful. We highly recommend this place! Rudi is a fantastic host and the Casetta is a peaceful and beautiful place to stay.

We stayed here in the off season so some facilities eg pool and breakfast weren’t available. The location is so special. Beautiful views of the Tuscan countryside, easy drive down to the coast. Very clean and well looked after apartment.

Great host! Amazing views! Very peaceful setting and location! Great breakfast and dinner! Wonderful pool and patio. We ate at the restaurant both nights and were very impressed with the food and wine. Easy to get to location that is very close to the charming town and beach as well as all the southern Tuscan wineries, medieval villages, and attractions. I would stay here again only longer next time!
