Very nice place! It's a beautiful house with very furnished garden, located in quiet and peaceful environment. The owner is extremely welcoming and helpful. Besides they cook delicious meals with fresh ingredients from the garden. Perfect place for getaway far from the crowds.

We felt thoroughly rejuvenated after our stay at Quo Vadis! Saknim is a fantastic host - her calm and friendly demeanour add to the overall sense of peace that presides over the property. She takes excellent care of her guests and provides a personal touch which is lacking in many other homestays. She shared local information and insights with us, and was enjoyable to converse with. The room was spotlessly clean, very cosy and comfortable, with additional blankets and hot water bottles provided. The farmhouse itself is steeped in history and surrounded by vegetable gardens and trees. It occupies a secluded spot in a small village with beautiful walking trails nearby. Besides Saknim, the other staff were also very amicable and smiley - as a team they put a lot of effort into cooking and caring for us. We were absolutely spoiled with the food at Quo Vadis! Every meal we were presented with a whole spread of delicacies and dishes - all prepared from fresh local produce. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer!!!

We spent three wonderful days at Quo Vadis homestay. The property is lush, cozy, and intimate, offering plenty of privacy. Saknim, her sister, Kancha Didi, and Anam were incredibly warm and hospitable. Saknim gave us a tour of the farm, served us delicious home-cooked and fire-cooked meals, and made our stay truly memorable. The peace and quiet of the homestay were exactly what we needed, with charming spots to explore nearby and, if you’re lucky, breathtaking views of Kanchenjunga. We highly recommend this homestay for anyone looking to unwind and do nothing for a few days. We can’t wait to visit again!

The Quo Vadis farm is an exquisite 150 year old family home tucked into the dense greenery of the Mangwa forest, exuding warmth and an old world charm. The hostess and her staff share a deep commitment towards history and tradition and yet go out of their way to provide the guests with all kinds of amenities possible. We loved the sumptuous breakfast spread, the unique taste of rai saag at lunch freshly plucked from the garden, piping hot finger chips with our evening tea. Lovely trails snake through the forest leading to quaint little church buildings and gumpha s with breathtaking view points. Super friendly dogs keep you company all along the way. The rooms are squeaky clean and bathrooms are fitted with water heaters and showers to rejuvenate your tired body after a steep climb. The quirky furniture, the cosy library space with an interesting and eclectic collection of books all add to the wholesome and eminently agreeable vibes of the place. If you are up for a fuss free getaway into the lap of nature, this is the place for you.

No complaints whatsoever as far as the property is concerned. Only thing bothering us was the pitiable condition of roads from Tista bazar. The recent floods have eaten away large chunks of the motorway as well as homes and shops adjacent to it. Even high up the roads are not maintained at all and you can expect a bumpy ride for the most part. But I can vouch that it's worth it. As the railroads encroach and new elements of ' development ' encroach into the landscape, it's bound to change over the years. Up till now it is still unspoilt, standing at the threshold, still unsure as to whether the changes would ease or disrupt the lives of the people. That is why we felt that the beauty was tinged with a particular kind of pain that made it all the more tantalizing.

"A very relaxing and comfortable stay amidst nature, I would want to repeat again"

This was a wonderful getaway, tucked in the midst of the himalayan foothills. A cosy hillside farm with sprawling fields, trails through pine forests and quiet spots to just sit and seep in the beauty around gave us a very relaxing and rejuvenating experience. All this was topped by excellent food ( the owner's bakery was awesome) and very warm hospitality. The rustic beauty touched up by a very fine and sophisticated touch of taste by the talented owner was amazing! This is an offbeat spot, a bit remote, but the roads are well negotiable, quite easy to reach. Very pleasant weather.
