Podere Santa Maria

Amazing location with great views, delicious food and the service was second to none, the staff were simply amazing, one big family. You could feel the love everywhere. Highly recommended.

Wonderful experience! The property, service and location was perfect. Everyone made us feel like family. The food was delicious. Every morning we started with a beautiful spread to start the day of exploring and wine tasting . We even had dinner on two nights that were great.

Nothing!

The hotel is located in a charming area, close to many must-see places in Tuscany. All the stuff is extremly kind and helpful. They create a very friendly atmosphere. The room was comfortable and the swimming pool was incredible. But the most impressive was the FOOD! Congratulation and respect to all the cooks and the chef, hats off! Everything that we ate there for lunches and dinners was absolutely delicious! And their tiramisu is the best in the world!!! We liked a lot our stay in Podere Santa Maria.

It's not that I didn't like it but I think these aspects could be improved: - a little bit more of savory products and vegetables for breakfast. - mosquito nets because they are quite old and we had a problem with insects like spiders, ants and some kind of a black, long worms entering the room. But all of these things don't matter the moment you see the amazing view from your room and a smiling faces of people who work there.

Pool was nice . Dinner was good. Staff were friendly.

The property was very tired. Lots of stuff everywhere. Looked like they may have been closed for a long time and nothing had been done to refresh. Loungers around pool and chairs all over the place and towels that had been left by the pool and not moved in the 2&1/2 days we were there. Seemed very unloved.

I was very satisfied with my stay at this accommodation. It is located in a beautiful and peaceful spot in the middle of nature. The hosts were very respectful and warm, creating a family atmosphere that made me feel like part of their family. The cuisine was excellent, and the dinner was superb. This place is very, very pet-friendly. My dog and I are already looking forward to our return.

Everything was great. But most importantly, the way staff cared about us, every single day of our stay. They are exceptional people who make you feel so at home that you don’t want to leave.

There was nothing that we didn’t like. Everything was wonderful.

Great food, great ,friedly service

This place is in the middle of nowhere - which is what I looked for. Surrounded by woods, wineyards, olive groves, very quiet both during the day and night, unless there is an event (birthday dinner and such). The day of a kids party the staff was ready to move me to a room on the other side of the house in order to not be disturbed, but I declined as I was on a hike that day. The room was not big, but who needs a spacious room in the middle of Tuscany in summer? The bathroom was small, just enough for 1 person. Good air conditioning. Quite dark all day long (which helps against the heat). Bedsheets changed every two days. There is a nice common space between the 4 rooms with table, sofas and many books, but too hot in the summer to stay there. Of course you can take a book to read elsewhere. Breakfast is huge, I saw 5 homemade cakes every day, plus yogurt, bread, local ham and cheese, cereals, fruit and vegetables from the garden. The kitchen provides meals on lunch and dinner (try pistacchio chicken if Elena is in charge!) or, if you want to wander around, they'll prepare a (enormous) sandwich to take away. Portions are Tuscan, don't expect to lose weight during the stay (if they offer "una bruschetta?", they will bring six of them). Just speak to the staff and they'll go the extra mile to satisfy you. The pool is very nice and clean, made with stone, not plastic nor tiles, under a giant oak tree (however no leaves or insects in the pool all day long, I don't know how they do it). Shaded poolbeds all around. There are farm animals about 50 m from the house, but if you don't go there you'll absolutely not see, hear or smell them (no rooster!). The highlight is the wifi, as I was there for work. The signal is full in the room, in the dining room inside, outside on the front yard and, about half the strength (enough for video calls) EVEN BY THE TABLE UNDER THE OAK OVER THE VALLEY! What a spot for remote office!

Have a look on the map and consider your plans. You will not reach tourist destinations in half an hour, you definitely need a car.
