This was such a lovely place to stay. The owner is really nice and speaks English fairly well. The room was large and very comfortable. Had our own heating and cooling. There is a communal living room that has a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, tv, karaoke machine and games you can play. There is a lot of maps and pamphlets you can look through with information about the area. Bathroom is large and clean. The cats are adorable and can’t wait to come and say good morning to you.

We should have come later in the year so we could enjoy the roses in full bloom!

Nice place to stay on Sado Shima. Accessible by bus, the house is very clean and confortable. Will get cold in winter. Host is kind, can speak English if you need! If you are not used to futon, might be tough in the beginning

Would recommend if you like cats, peace and quiet, and have a car. We rented ours from Kigaruni in Ryotsu port. Lovely rose garden, like staying in someone's home.

Very well. Just one night but everything was so good that there was no imperfections almost. It’s the best guesthouse I’ve ever been in Niigata prefecture.

We’ve stayed at rosencat before. We love Heroko-san, she looks after us so well. You need to hire a car to get around Sado and Heroko-san is helpful there too. She speaks excellent English.

Extremely nice house and rooms with the best host we could imagine! Plus the friendly cats roaming the house - what else would you want? We received a pick-up from the bus and she even organized a rental car because we underestimated the challenges of getting around the island without a car. You also get tipps for sightseeing and events in the area like fireworks in the summer. We would visit again any time!
