Best restaurant we have been to in many years! Great home base for touring Umbria and Tuscany

Hot water iffy

The staff were wonderful and made us feel at home. It was exactly the kind of getaway we were looking for.

Staff and owner were nice and helpful; and there was a large friendly dog our kids liked.

We paid for eight nights, but left after two for following reasons: - the website advertised horse stable and the option to take horse riding lessons on the ground (our main reason to book this Agriturismo in the first place), however a week or two before our arrival we learned that this is not being offered anymore. The management changed the website entry upon our enquiry and suggested another farm some 20min away. - the rooms were steaming hot without aircon (we found it very hard to sleep), smelly and rather shabby, especially kitchenette and shower could have used some proper cleaning. There was mold and large ugly bugs in one of the bathrooms. - two scary dogs luckily in a cage, but nevertheless rather frightening. - the on-site restaurant seems to be the management's main focus. It was good, but we weren't informed that it was closed on Monday, so we had to spontaneously take our hungry kids to town and look for alternatives. - there seems to be a lack of attention on the appearance of the rest of the site. Pool was dirty and the sunbeds very tired and not very inviting. The rather low price we paid for the accommodation should have made us suspicious, but nevertheless we were disappointed with this Agriturismo. I believe it could be better with some more management attention (the drinks we had on the restaurants patio were still there two days later) and improved maintenance.

The breakfast was super. We stayed there also for dinner and the food and the location were excellent, we'll come back.

The setting is divine - each morning and evening you'd see deer appear on the edge of the treeline opposite - the buildings are so characterful, the bed is super comfy, everyone is super helpful and friendly and the food was incredible.

On the kitchen side the apartment wasn't very well stocked with utensils/cooking equipment - we even had to ask for a corkscrew. Things like a cheese grater and some things for cleaning would be great.
