Agriturismo Borgo Vigna Vecchia

On arrival, we were welcomed and shown our apartment for our 5 night stay in early September. Everything was explained well and we also chose to take the option of a Tuscan dinner prepared onsite one evening for guests. Everything about our stay was perfect. The location is beautiful with views of the vineyards. Our apartment at the rear had table and chairs and the terrace overlooked the vineyards. It was nice to sit out in the evening and just enjoy the tranquility. We had a kitchen in our apartment and drove to a nearby supermarket to get some basic food and drink supplies so we didn't need to leave the Agriturismo. The apartment had everything we could need and the airconditioning throughout was a welcome relief from the late summer sunshine. The outdoor swimming pool also provided cool relief. As there aren't many apartments, the swimming pool had plenty of sunbeds and at the times we visited, there were only between one - three other couples relaxing by the pool. We joined other guests in the garden area beneath a marquee and the dinner we paid for was exceptional: 4 courses - a 'taste of tuscany'. The antipasti was served with a glass of their white wine. For the other two courses, we were given a bottle of their Chianti. Finally, the dolce was served with their own 'vin santo'. The cost ,(30 euro), was well worth it. There is free WiFi which is adequate for general web browsing and messaging but wouldn't be sufficient for streaming TV etc - but realistically, why would you want to watch TV when you are in such a beautiful area. It is located quite centrally so you have the autostrada about 25 minutes to the north which passes from Florence to Pisa via Montecatini Terme, Lucca etc. Similarly to the south, you have the road from Florence to Empoli and Pisa. Our stay was to celebrate my birthday and it was an ideal place to just rest, relax, 'unplug' and have some quality time with my partner.

Pool and localization

Uncomfortable bed. A lot of mosquitos in the room. It was very hot temperature in the room if you will not switch on AC you can’t handle it.

Sandra and Antonella, and their husbands,were so friendly and welcoming. Always willing to help and answer our questions - with a smile. Lovely place in a beautiful location - with a swimming pool which was an added bonus. Would definitely recommend this accommodation.

The vineyards and salt water pool

Very picturesque location amongst the rolling hills of vineyards, the hosts Antonella, Sandra and their husbands were very friendly and hospitable, the villa was spacious and very clean, and the pool was refreshing and well set out.

BBQ would have been great to use, but you need yo have your own coals

it was a good location to reach Tuscan cities like Florence. the pool and the pool area were very nice and clean. parking was very secure. it was nice and had a charming atmosphere to be in the middle of wine and olive trees.

the dishes in our room were not completely clean. this should be checked before new guests arrive. one light was broken. so we only had a quite dark kitchen and living room experience. there were no mosquito nets on the windows, so we got bitten a lot. very weak WiFi signal. both ACs in our flat were out of order.

the location was fantastic. An oasis of calm and serenity in the Tuscany Hills. A fabulous base for visiting Florence, Lucca, and Vinci. Empoli is also nice for easy reach restaurants and shops. The family are fabulous too. really welcoming on arrival. The traditional Tuscany meal was a delight, and it was great to meet and chat with other guests staying too. The swimming pool is an added bonus. I would highly recommend a stay here.
