Agriturismo Margione

It’s a marvellous place that balances luxury with rural sensibility & simplicity. The setting of a beautiful farm down a winding road surrounded by hills of olive & carob groves and wildflowers is unforgettable. Silence at night is deep & lovely. The family have transformed an ancient stone barn into an elegant, spacious guest house with lofty ceilings and a fine bathroom. The enclosed courtyard is well furnished and lights up beautifully at night. Down some steps is the most stunning pool we’ve ever known. Each morning we visited a nearby town (Modica, Ragusa, Noto, Vendicari Reserve) and made sure we returned home to chill by the pool. Breakfasts were amazing Sicilian delights. Chiara & Giorgio & family are gifted craftspeople and warm hosts.

Once we were accustomed to driving on the winding, narrow country roads it was good, but this is the only small challenge. It’s worth doing to be immersed in all the beauty!

Quiet and beautiful place. Excellent food!

We had a fabulous stay, very peaceful and relaxing and just what we needed after a week of intensive sightseeing. We loved the authentic farm buildings of an old masseria that had been adapted for this agriturismo. Our hosts were wonderfully warm and friendly. Chiara cooked us the most amazing dinner and we sampled her delicious home-made cheese at breakfast. We went on some lovely walks in the surrounding countryside -- gentle rolling hills, flower-filled meadows, beautiful dry-stone walls (a disappearing skill). We'd love to come back for longer and spend more time exploring the nearby towns and villages -- there are lots of great day-trips to be made from Margione

We liked everything! It might be worth downloading & printing instructions in English for the air conditioning/heating. The evening was chilly and at first we couldn't get the unit to work. Our hosts helped out immediately, of course, so it wasn't a problem.

The rooms are beautiful and the area is reserved, peaceful, private and surrounded by amazing views and tranquility. The host is very responsive and welcoming.

The mattress was not the best. Although everything else really compensates.

It was very clean, location is gorgeous and rooms with a warm and welcoming vibe.
