Tourist Farm Šenkova Domačija

The staff were really friendly and accommodating throughout and with our late arrival. It is one of the most scenic places to take your dinner or breakfast. It is ideal to be able to walk out the door of you room and set off on a beautiful walk. The breakfast was generous and tasty as was the dinner.

Perhaps we didn’t see it but it would be lovely to have a living room/social area to relax in outside of your room when it is too cold to sit outside and admire the view.

The location was brilliant, can do many great walks both in Slovenia and in Austria from here. Surrounded by farmland and wild meadows. The staff were exceptional and helped us on the best walks to do and took an interest in our stay. They were great recommending local places. Decor inside is also beautiful, nicely refurbished traditional chalet. A great place for pet lovers - lovely welcome from their dog (the bear) and also goats, cows, rabbits, pigs and chickens on site.

€25 for the evening meal was slightly steep. Portions were not huge and food was relatively basic, however all lovely local produce and served in beautiful location so is understandable. Be mindful that it is far from shops / restaurants so limited choice for lunch / dinner, but this is part of the charm of the place. Apart from that it’s perfect.

Location is fantastic, the view and the quietness of the valley. The farm is very well kept, animals seem very happy and are friendly to kids. Breakfast is excellent.

The beds are not the most comfortable (a bit on the hard side) and the rooms are small. Dinner was a bit of a hit and miss, sometimes it was very good and others a bit scarce for the price tag. We had a very good stay all in all, but it is worth mentioning that we booked a room with balcony, as advertised on Booking, but were given one without and when we mentioned this we were dismissed without taking any responsibility for the mistake

the view from the farm is amazing! The kids loved helping with the animals. the evening meal was excellent.
