Quinta da Fortaleza

We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Quinta da Fortaleza is surrounded by nature typical of the northern Alentejo region, including olive groves and cultivated cork oak woodlands, which give the place a special vibe. I spotted many different wild bird species on the property, as well as other interesting local fauna and flora. It is a very quiet place and perfect for disconnecting from daily life for a while. Mr. João is a very friendly host who takes great care of his property. Breakfast was also very good. We hope to come back one day! :)

Great pool with plenty sun beds, spotlessly clean rooms, very good breakfast - including milk without lactose. Joao is very kind and gave us good recommendations for places to see and a river beach with a lounge restaurant where we felt like by the sea :) The family room consists of 2 connected rooms and a bathroom - all very spacious and pretty. The property is situated a 10 minute drive from Elvas, the road is well maintained with little traffic. It was easily the best property we stayed at during our 2 week trip in Portugal.

Maravilloso, al principio algo perdidos porque esta algo escondido, pero se llega , tranquilidad y paz absoluta y la persona que se encuentra alli, cordial, amable, una excelente persona.

Una casa preciosa de campo equipada con todo lo necesario y decorada con gusto y cariño. Rodeada de vegetación y pajaros. Joao, el anfitrión es una bellisima persona, muy atenta en todo momento. Las camas super comodas y el desayuno sencillo pero muy completo. Nuestra estancia ha sido perfecta. Muchas gracias por todo. Esperemos poder volver algún día.

Joao, the owner, is very kind, friendly and attentive. He made sure we had everything we needed and that our stay was perfect. The quinta is lovely and and peaceful, and set in a beautiful area close to Elvas, Monsaraz and Estremoz.

Absolutely wonderful stay in this lovely rural hotel, minutes from Elvas, in the middle of rural Alentejo. Lovely host, going out of his way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Great breakfast. As quiet as it gets. We stayed the weekend in high winter and enjoyed the common room with beautiful burning wood stove. We will be back.
