Tjonnas Farm Stay

We recently stayed at the Tjonnas Farm guest house with another family during our Norwegian vacation. The farm is in a remote, yet beautiful location, not far from the Heddal Stavekirke. The family has gone to exceptional lengths to build and furnish a comfortable, modern guest house while capturing traditional Norwegian design details, right down to the intricate rosemaling on the cabinetry and beds. Torild was a gracious hostess and was very welcoming to the kids and shared many details about the farm and its history. We enjoyed the farm's fresh lamb sausages, bread, and apple cider. The kids agreed that the lamb sausages were their favorite meal in Norway and that the farm was a favorite venue. We would be happy to visit again in the future and recommend the location to others.

Excellent location combined with extremely welcoming owners provide a unique vibe of calm and positive energy. It is not just a farm stay, it is like staying in your own mountain hut, next to a small farm that is owned by your very close friends.

It is located in a remote area, 3 km on a climbing gravel road. However, this means peace and quiet. City of Notodden is only 25 minutes away. Excellent staff.

The location is just wonderful, beautiful surroundings and great view. The host is very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We got to enjoy the selfmade food and bakery too!
