Melkboom Guest Farm

We booked the two rooms they offer. Belinda the host was exceptional. The chalet room was a great size with kitchen and living room. The bungalow is quite a bit smaller with the kitchen area outside. The overall experience was excellent. Like the posting notes as well, it is on a highway so it does have some road noise but not bad at all. Highly recommend this as a good overnight option for travelling to from Capetown..

We stayed in the "Uilhuis" (owlhouse) next to main house. The layout is perfect with a large terrace, basic kitchen facilities, and a comfortable double bed. Very friendly reception by Bellinda. Good Wi-Fi reception.

The location is ideal for people travelling along the N2, but the disadvantage is that the cottage is very close to the road and traffic continues throughout the night. This is mentioned in the description so we were warned in advance. Just pretend that you are listening to the waves breaking on the rocks.

We stayed here one night in mid November, 2024, in the Rondewal property. Sleeping in this round house was a delight for us, reminding us of camping in an earlier life. But don't be fooled; it was comfortable, we slept well, and it had all the facilities one could wish to make a pleasant stay. The accommodation is self catering with a fully equipped sheltered outdoor kitchen, a microwave and braai(BBQ). This is also a working farm and, as we were checking in, the last of the wheat harvest was being brought in, which was fascinating. The hostess, Belinda, is welcoming, helpful, efficient and nothing is too much trouble for her. For example, while paying via Paypal, we had some unexpected IT trouble which she expertly guided us through. Top marks! That she runs such a high quality guest house business AND plays her part on the farm only proves how capable she is. We could easily have stayed here more than one night, and were sorry to have to move on.
