"An unforgettable, heartfelt stay with so many special moments"

10.0

My stay at Toka Toka View was truly one of the highlights of my New Zealand trip. From the moment I arrived, Peter and his family made me feel incredibly welcome and cared for. It wasn’t just a place to sleep—it felt like a home where I was seen and treated with such genuine warmth. I got to experience so many unique things I’ll never forget: a gentle horse ride on the farm, even trying my hand at shooting with Peter, and sharing home-cooked meals together that felt like being with family. I also loved the little adventure to the beautiful view spot on the Tuk Tuk, and all the thoughtful travel tips they shared that made my journey even smoother. The farm itself is peaceful and full of charm, and the hosts’ kindness made every day feel like a little surprise. I would absolutely recommend this stay to anyone looking for an authentic, heartfelt farm experience. Thank you both for making my time here so special!

"Great experience! Super friendly and hospitable host family!"

9.0

The host family Peter and Sarah are extremely friendly and hospitable. Peter took us to milk the cow and pick some red kumaras. They also provide us various kinds of food and fruits for breakfast. Sarah introduces the pets and animals they have in their place. Before I left, I also had a chance to feed donkeys, pigs, sheep, etc. It is such an amazing experience for us. Highly recommend a family with kids or animal lovers or who want to experience farm life. 5 stars out of 5!

Nothing.

Wonderful home-made muesli with coconut yoghurt was the highlight of the break-fast. It impacted me so much that decided to replicate it at home.

Been in NZ for 15 years and finally scratched the farmstay itch—best decision ever! My 4-year-old was absolutely stoked. Peter is a total legend and a dairy pro; he had us milking cows and meeting every animal under the sun (pretty sure only the Kiwi bird was missing!). Whatever you do, don't miss his roast beef and that "magic secret gravy"—it’s life-changing. Great value for money. Already told the whole whānau they need to visit. We’ll be back for sure, hopefully next time Sara can actually whip me into shape on a horse!

"For a fun farm stay in the Ruawai area, stay with Peter and Sara"

10.0

We loved being on the farm. Large variety of animals from cows, horses, alpacas to bearded dragons and tortoises. The room was very comfortable and we had windows on two walls which overlocked the farmyard. The shared bath has a large tub and good size shower with a separate room for the toilet and sink. The hosts , Peter and Sara, were wonderful. They are very busy people with lots of interests but took the time to take us hiking and milking at a dairy farm plus play rummikub in the evenings. Breakfast was homemade yoghurt and bread and muesli plus fruit and eggs if you wanted. We would recommend staying here if you are looking hit a farm stay in the Ruawai area.

There was nothing we didn’t enjoy at this property
