Mekong Delta Ricefield Lodge

Martin is an incredibly welcoming host and our stay at his lodge was amazing in every aspect. The speedboat tour with him was an exceptional experience and the food was great.

The Mekong Delta Ricefield Lodge is a marvelous place away from tourist crowds in the middle of beautiful ricefields and authentic neighborhood. The lodge is nicely designed and very well furnished. Rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. Two bungalow are also available providing even more comfort and privacy. Martin, the owner, is very welcoming and provides lots of advice on what to see and to do. He is offering an early morning boat trip along the adjacent rivers visiting floating markets and the open delta next to Can Tho. It should not be missed! There is a young Vietnamese lady in the kitchen preparing excellent food all day long. High class cuisine which we haven’t experienced elsewhere in Vietnam. Also the rest of the staff is very nice and providing a family atmosphere during the stay. We were very happy at this lovely lodge in the delta and will certainly come back

This accommodation was by far the best we had on our trip to Vietnam. Martin is an awesome host and a great chartacter. He has excellent suggestions and helps with all questions and problems. When a cab that was supposed to pick up another guest didn't show up, Martin jumped in and drove her himself. You feel at home and the days with the other guests were like being in a big family. The breakfast is great and the dinner and lunch are fantastic. If you want to see Vietnam off the beaten tourist track this is the place to be. You should definitely do the boat tour. The early start at 4:30 am is rewarded with a unique atmosphere and experience. This tour is outstanding and cannot be compared with the other tours to the floating marts in the Mekong Delta. Very nice place to stay. You are totally away from big cities and tourism. The host Martin is very friendly and also tries to give his guests the best experience. Also he mentioned, that he tries to help the local people and we could definitely see that during our stay. The speedboat tour was our highlight in Mekong delta and Martin did a great job in giving additional infos about the area. The food was very delicious, although quite pricey

The rooms, boattour and food is quite pricey compared to the overall prices you pay in Vietnam. However, I think it is worth, especially when having in mind, that Martin is helping the local people.

This is such a lovely stay in the Mekong Delta! Martin has created a wonderful oasis. If you want to experience a slice of real, rural life in the delta, then Martin's place is for you. He's clearly put a lot of thought into the rooms and making them both attractive and comfortable. He has bikes you can use for free to cycle around the village, which is a lovely way to experience the area. I also highly recommend doing his boat tour! It's a bit more expensive than the other touristic boat tours in the area, but in my opinion totally worth it. You'll see much more than with the typical tourist boats (but you'll still see the same things they see too, so you aren't missing anything), and have a much more local and enjoyable experience. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I also recommend doing the full board option and eating all your meals at Martin's, as there aren't any other restaurants nearby and also Mimi is a wonderful cook. You won't go hungry! She always prepares a feast! I'm grateful to Martin for his hospitality and whole heartedly recommend staying here to enjoy life on the Mekong delta.

We were received and hosted by the owner, Martin, "the German in the Mekong Delta" and all his lovely dogs. He really makes an effort for you to have a great experience in what he calls 'his paradise'. You can experience the real rural Vietnam, in a location away from the main tourist areas. The food is great, and the table is set up in a way that promotes conversation with other guests, so you get a very nice family atmosphere. We took one of the bungalows, which was very spacious and the terrace was great.

To set expectations straight: this is in the middle of rural Vietnam, so expect a 30min car ride at least to one of the main urban areas. There are a lot of mosquitoes, but the rooms have counter measures. The farmer neighbors sometimes would make karaoke nights until around 9pm.
