Mekong Delta Ricefield Lodge

Everything about it! Martin and Vi were excellent hosts not to mention that the food and the tours were superb!

At the end of our three week visit to Vietnam, we stayed two nights with Martin and Vi. It was a wonderful experience in a place where you can see the real Vietnam. The highlight was the boat tour in the early morning where we could see the life on the river. Even our four year old son had the best morning of our holiday. It’s also a great area for cycling. Really recommend going here if you are looking for an authentic place to experience Vietnam.

Loved the location! Far out from the high pace city of Saigon but not too far from the next city of Can Tho. The entrance has this beautiful array of flowers with the gates opening up to your oasis. Inside is incredibly relaxing. A small pathway leading to several bungalows and then surprise a beautiful pool in the shade. The bungalows have a lovely decoration inside with windows and doors opening to the plants, flowers and trees. The upper stairs balcony is incredibly enjoyable to relax, read a book, have a cold drink, and be one with nature. Once you restore your energy, there are bikes to use to ride outside on the quiet street along the river or even into the local village. Also the property has access to the river and a speed boat. You can leave right from the property to check out the floating markets and get the thrill of seeing more of the river, nature and viewing the villages along it.

Loved everything! There were some annoying mosquitoes at night, but that's expected.

Natural ,rustic hut with all the comforts nestled in the prettiest of gardens which enabled us to listen to all the sounds of the wildlife . Just perfect !

As above , property had plenty of room to either sit out on downstairs balcony , or go up to the terrace and fall asleep in the hammocks or loungers . When too hot there was a pool a few seconds walk away and drinks facilities too . Food was exellent . Cook was such a lovely lady . Martin the owner was so passionate about his property , his land and life in the area and could understand why he is keen to preserve life the way it is there on the river . V his girlfriend was so supportive of Martin and had the most beautiful singing voice . Nothing was too much trouble for them . Boat trip , bike ride and trip to Cacau farm were great ! All in all we loved our time here , thank you !

A beautiful piece of paradise on the river. Martin & Vin were exceptional hosts,attending to all our needs & requests. Nothing was too much trouble. The food is amazing, with great vegetarian options. We also did the river cruise with Martin- highly recomended

We loved the beautiful setting, the amazing food, the lovely staff, the cutest dogs, the early morning Mekong Delta boat trip, the day trip around the Can Tho area, cycling to the village and meeting friendly locals, relaxing in the pool - and Martin’s unique hospitality.

The neighbours’ love of karaoke has almost got to be heard to be believed! But they finish early in the evening so not so much of an issue.

Everything! What Martin has created here is idyllic. If you want to really experience the Mekong Delta then this is the place to go; you have the chance to see how the local people actually live and work, away from the tourist hotspots. Martin is the perfect host and the atmosphere he has created at the lodge is wonderful.

Nothing to dislike! Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer.

11/10 for hospitality 11/10 for the food 11/10 for the Boat trip 11/10 for Martin's moustache We had a great 3 night stay. Martin and Vi we're great hosts and have created a wonderful space. It's perfect if you want to experience authentic Vietnam. It's close to nature and very tranquil. Highlights were: Mealtimes. Apart from great food and plenty of it, the conversations with the other guests made for a special stay. We were particularly lucky in this regard with French, Spanish and French guests. Francis even gave us an impromptu a cappella performance of Cuban music. The boat trip to the floating market will I am sure end up being one of the highlights of our time in Vietnam. No hesitation in recommending Ricefield Lodge to others.

Nothing We didn't stay long enough

Martin and Vi were excellent hosts. The home cooked food was superb and bountiful supply. Nothing was too much trouble and Martin solved our transport problems when our bus firm cancelled our bus the HCMC at 2 hours notice! The boat trip is the best on the delta. After many years he has a selected number of traders at the floating markets with excellent food for breakfast. When we saw the other tourist boats with tourists packed in we knew we had picked the best tour of the delta.

We cannot think of anything to put in here!

Friendly and helpful owners and staff. Spacious rooms with nice outdoor bathroom and a balcony. Bicycles are good and we were able to hire a scooter. The onsite cooks were very good. The swimming pool was good and clean. The early morning boat trip on the Mekong was one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you Martin and V
