The nature around the house is nice.

The worst was the fact that it's a dilapidated house where hot water is not on demand; you need to wait a solid 30 minutes for it to warm up and it cools down after a 3-minute shower. This may be great in summer, but I stayed there in November when the temperatures dropped to 10 degrees at night, so it was no fun to have to rinse my hair in cold water. The house doesn't seem to have any insulation because it was really cold in my room, colder than outside. The owner needed to be asked 3 times, the 3rd one being the booking.com agent, to fix these issues. He's a nice person only up until you start asking him to provide what you booked. He became very unpleasant when I voiced my complaints. On top of that, the place is dirty, old and just simply neglected. Also, it's not a hostel but more of a guesthouse for various reasons. There's nowhere to store or make your food; you need to ask the owner to use his personal kitchen because the communal kitchen is in a tragic state and has no proper cooking equipment. The only communal area is outdoors which again just doesn't work in the cold temperatures. The place is difficult to find, especially in the dark, so after 5pm in winter months. It's far from Skopje (around 18km from Skopje Bus Terminal, so even further from the center) and it's not close to the airport either (14km). The airport transfer for 1 person can be arranged in a dirty pick-up truck, but for 2 or more people you need to call a taxi; the taxi needs minimum 30 minutes to get there plus 20 minutes to the airport, so it's not going to be cheap. All in all, it's not what is advertised and way overpriced for such poor conditions, sadly.

Our short stay exceeded our expectations, Ticho served us great food and helped us with early morning taxi to the airport.

Everything was perfect

Everything was exceptional ( if you like simple things, rustic style, and countryside ) ! And the host, there just aren't enough words to describe Tihomir's kindness and hospitality ( we travel a lot and met many hosts but Tihomir is by far the best ). He waited for us with coffee and served us figs from his garden. Plus he speaks impeccable English. Also the food was delicious and home cooked. We traveled with a nine month old baby who enjoyed being walked on the large property, interacting with the dogs, cat and being swung in the hammock. Great experience! Can't wait to visit again next year !

The host was really great. He even cooked for us as we arrived late and the next restaurants are 8/9 km away. He even shared the first watermelon from his garden with us.

Amazing host, very friendly and helpful. We arrived at 2am due to a delayed flight and he had food ready when we arrived, which was totally unexpected. The area around the property and the views are beautiful.

We got a lot more than we expected, because we felt like visiting family. Tiho is the best host we ever had. He waited for us until middle of the night because our flight was delayed and made best vegan breakfast and dinner for us we could imagine. We had great talks and even visited him again before flying home, just to see him (and his lovely pets) again. Hes so warm-hearted and nice. The location near Skopje Airport is perfect. Its quiet, though and you are in nature.

For an authentic Macedonian experience, make sure you spend a night or two (or more!) with Tiho. We had an amazing time. It's an easy 30min train trip from Skopje (buses also). It is also pretty close to the airport, so no need to stay in Skopje. Tiho is so much fun, with his stories and sense of humour. Don't be put off by the rustic exterior of the accommodation, the rooms are spotlessly clean, beds comfy, shower is hot. There's an awesome verandah outside the room to soak up the morning sun, while sipping a Macedonian coffee or drinking a Rakia. For a small extra, Tiho might also cook you dinner. Best meal we had so far in Macedonia.
