"Good weekend away but needs a bit of attention"

We were a family of 7 that spent the weekend to celebrate my mothers birthday. Had a great weekend. Staff was very accommodating. Arranged a breakfast for the Saturday morning which was nice. Ista helped with the booking of a game drive. Good location and easy to reach despite 11km of gravel road.

The difference between a good place and a great place is in the details. We did self catering and found the kitchen could have done with a bit of an update. No glass bowls, 1 plastic bowl, only 2 pots and very sad pan (so fried eggs wasn’t possible), unusable plastic cutting board etc. Small things but would have made a difference. We found it very challenging to cook for 7 pax with such limited kitchen supplies. Drains in 2 of the units (Nguni and Oryx) were not draining very well. Sleeper coaches in Nguni were very old with hard planks of wood in that made it very difficult to sit on and sleep on.
