Eco Villas Merak

Nice houses and really nice staff. Very good for families and for activities down by the lake.

The individual detached one-bedroom unit we were allocated is modern & clean. The host was very friendly & helpful, through her non-native English. There are two swimming pools to service 7 units. The mountain surrounding the property provided beautiful views. The free-to-use bicycles provided were very handy when we decided to go to the nearby little town for lunch. The accommodation is an extension to the host's working vineyard, which is why they provide free wine-tasting before dinner.

This is more about the infrastructure than the property itself. The road leading to the villa was narrow, with one side mountain & other side river - so we either scratch our hire car or potentially plunge it into the river! :) The nervousness was compounded because we were unfamiliar with driving on the other side of the road. The bicycles have not been maintained - they were rusty, & one of us had the chain fall off while cycling. Luckily, our experienced rider easily popped the rusty chain back on. Despite the little hiccup, the bicycles did their job, transporting us to the little town nearby.

We loved everything. The rooms, the hosts, the food - couldn’t complain about anything!
