It was a wonderful experience visiting this beautiful place! My wife and I are very grateful to Pedro and Alexandra for such a warm welcome and we will definitely be back.

Exceptional in every way! Pedro and Alexandra are warm, kind, and thoughtful hosts. Their backgrounds in the food, wine, and hotel industries are evidenced by their attention to detail paid to every aspect of your experience in their peaceful, country retreat. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious - everything from bread, jams, fruit picked from their own trees, fresh eggs from their hens, ham, cheese, yoghurt, granola. coffee, and juice. If possible, be sure to stay for an unforgettable dinner personally prepared by Alexandra and complemented by a unique selection of natural wines procured by Pedro. Portuguese hospitality at its best!

The fact that we had to leave after spending only one night! If possible, stay longer.

Pedro greeted us at the door and immediately made us feel welcomed and comfortable. Very friendly owner who went out of his way to take care of us. What an awesome place to stay! Such a magnificent house and the bedroom was clean, comfortable, and even had a set of doors we could open in the morning to access a patio for fresh air and forest views. Breakfast the next morning was above and beyond our expectations. Pedro also offered many wonderful and relevant suggestions for places to see and restaurants to check out while we were in Portugal. He took the time to generously answer any questions we had about the country and our future travels for the week. If you're looking for something far above the norm in a beautiful and peaceful country setting, this is your spot! Thank you Pedro (and animal friends)!

Out of the way and quiet. Lovely house, lots of history, beautiful property all around.

We stayed for two nights with our dog. Pedro and Alexandra were superb hosts and catered to our every need. They even cooked dinner on both nights and the food was exceptional and the cost very reasonable. We were served beautiful Tejo wines and the most wonderful deserts... all home made by Alexandra. The breakfasts were amazing with freshly cooked rolls and pastries, beautiful local fruits, french omelette, bacon, yogurt, granola. The food just kept on coming!. The casa is amazing and beautifully decorated with quality antique furniture and very comfortable beds. Our dog, Molly, was treated like a queen! We look forward to our next visit.

Nature all around, they allow dogs and the house/rooms are beautiful. Exactly what we wanted for a weekend getaway.

Casal da Serrana is a secret haven - cosy, beautiful and a lot of attention to detail. It feels like a home but also a castle and also a cottage. Pedro and Alexandra are the kindest hosts - very attentive and friendly and made us feel at home. The food was delicious and we can’t wait to return!
