Quinta da Rocha 1875

Location and breakfast were perfect for our needs. The owner even provided home made croissants and pastries (along with the usual meat & cheese selection, cereals and eggs) each morning. The room was very spacious and comfortable and the ensuite and shower are excellent. On a summers day (we visited in November) the pool and surrounding area would be very welcome.

The hotel is locked up in an evening which meant we had to agree a return time to ensure we could get in. However, even though this was often past midnight the owner still respected our return time and waited for us to return. The language barrier was a bit difficult but that reflects more on us British rather than the owner.

We had a beautiful stay at Quinta da Rocha, nestled on a quiet street with beautiful nature all around. We were greeted warmly by the owners and they even arranged a restaurant reservation for us. They gave us some nice advice on sites to see. The breakfast was nice too, with home made jams from the property.

Everything was amazing. A sauna would be a nice addition for the property if I had my wish.

Absolutely stunning property that has been sympathetically restored whilst adding a modern twist in places. The rooms are scrupulously clean, well equipped & finished to the highest standards. The breakfast selection used home grown & locally sourced produce & was plentiful & varied. Hosts were exceptional!!! Very personalised service & welcomed as a guest in their home Cannot recommend the hotel highly enough
