Air quality was bad due to the wildfires, which was dangerous for our baby. Hotel wouldn't allow us to cancel or provide a voucher for a future stay. Very frustrating

The staff and cleanliness of the place are exceptional. Everyone is very agreeable and friendly, chatty and helpful. The rooms and public areas including the swimming pool were spotless. This is a charming place to stay in for a relaxing time away from the madness of city life.

The rooms could benefit from a small fridge and some cutlery for use outside of the breakfast hours. Because the kitchen is not open for guest use, and the nearest supermarket is 15 mins drive away, it would've been helpful to be able to stock the fridge with necessities or have access to the kitchen, especially as we travelled with a child and did not want to eat out the whole time.

Amazing location. Hotel is beautiful. The view is gorgeous with all the vineyards. Rooms are very big and well maintained, very nicely decorated. Breakfast was very good and varied. Swimming pool was lovely. It’s very peaceful and relaxing. There was a very friendly cat!

I was very excited to stay here but I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility, for example, the staff had very strict rules, check in is at 3pm. I arrived 2 hours early because I took an early train. I asked the staff if I could stay by the pool while I waited for my room to be ready for check in, they said I could wait, sitting down, but not use the pool. By the way, I was the only person in the hotel, so this rule seemed a little too strict in my opinion, as there wasn’t anyone else using the pool at that time, and it was 37 degrees outside, but I was only allowed to look at the pool. I had to wait for 2 hours until I was allowed to check in, even though my room had been ready since the time I arrived. (It’s a small hotel so I could see that my room was ready, they just didn’t allow me to check early). There is a small lunch menu, but it’s limited and pricey for what it is. If you want to eat in Lamego or Regua, you’ll need a car or a taxi, keep this in mind. No dinner served at the hotel. (Taxis are expensive in this area) As others have mentioned, the bedroom and the bathroom are together. I was travelling solo so this wasn’t a problem for me, but might be awkward otherwise as there is no privacy for the toilet or shower. I was woken up every morning by kids running in the terrace above. The ceilings are very thin and you can hear the footsteps above (which is the breakfast place).

The property is so private and quiet—a great place to relax.

The entrance to the property and setting is gorgeous. The rooms are very nicely presented and practical. The breakfast and staff are lovely.

The swimming pool area was a little scruffy and the tiles around the pool in places were wobbly.
