Quinta das Alfambras

Dear Vera & family, thank you so much for an incredible stay at your little piece of heaven at the western algarve. We felt welcomed from the very first moment and got provided with helpful tipps and ideas where to eat or what to visit whenever we needed them. Your private breakfast is such a beautiful idea. It gave us the time and space to wake up in our own rhythm without having to be somewhere at a certain time to have breakfast. We really hope you keep this version of private breakfast. Vera's family invests a lot of time and effort in keeping the space clean, safe and nice. The pool and the garden is looked after everyday, the apartments are cleaned about two to three times a week and if you need anything, just ask. Whoever is interested in visiting Quinta das Alfambras, you will find a beautiful little apartment / house with a little or big terrasse (depending on the size of apartment you're staying in) with a view towards the forest. Each apartment has a fully equiped big kitchen, a newly renovated / built bathroom, a big bedroom and of course enough space to park your car on the hotel grounds. As already mentioned, breakfast is brought to you individually at your preferred time in the morning. You can choose from seven varieties of breakfast, if you have allergies or food preferences, no worries, Vera and her mum will take care of you. Vera's mum does the insanely delicous cake, that comes with everydays breakfast, as well. Breakfast is usually a lot, so if you have some leftovers, just put them in the fridge and you will be fine for the rest of the day.

A few things to keep in mind if you book Quinta das Alfambras: If you prefer a big hotel space with bars, restaurants and leisure offerings, this might not be the right place for you. We enjoyed being on our own and have the time to recharge. If you prefer travelling without a car / rental, it might be quite difficult to reach Quinta das Alfambras. There is public transport available but to easily reach the next beach / restaurant or supermarket, you should get a rental.

An exceptional holiday resort in the Algarve. It is very quiet an located in a forest area, a 10min ride away from Carrapateira and Vale Figueiras superb atlantic beaches. All the facilities are new and of high quality. The hosts are incredibly kind and dedicated to their family business. They were very attentive and ready to help us all along. The breakfasts are very abundant and personalised and brought to your home individually, something I found remarkable. I would definititely recommend this place, as it was a wonderful holiday for us. Thank you for everything :)

This has been one of the best stays so far, although it was not near/within the centre or beach to reach in walking distance. Welcome and communication with the host (Vera) were so perfect and lovely and all the things we asked for, we immediately got help and answers or support. The kitchen is very well equipped and has a dishwasher. There are also main things like oil, vinegar, salt and some herbs. The bed is really comfortable and big enough for two people who are used having one mattress for themselves. The breakfast is amazing and made by Veras mom. We could manage to get it to a different time, because we left the apartment early in the mornings - that was perfect and really serviceorientated. The breakfast is so delicious. There is a basic breakfast and you can add either scrambled eggs, boiled egg, ham or smoothie. In total 7 menus. Each morning you can choose a different one for the next day. The cake and croissant were our afternoon snack - so delicous! There are 7 houses/apartments in total (all new and built in 2020) and it is a really nice athmosphere. Of course, if you have a family with kids the apartment next to you, you can hear some little noises. But in general it was really quite and you could just hear sometimes the windmills near the premises. Parking is for free and directly at the apartments. There is also a washing mashine on the premise you can use for free with powder between 9 am and 5 pm. The living room with the table, sofa and tv is also really nice to spend time. The air conditioning is also nice to have in the afternoon/evening, especially in the bedroom. Due to some mosquitos we were not able to leave the windows open. For this Vera gave us also something to get rid of them - so nice. If you are looking for a quite, comfortable, well equipped apartment with pool and breakfast and a wonderful host/family: You will probably not find anything better than this on the westcoast.

If we need to say something: We knew that there is nothing around to have a short walk, especially when it is dark outside. In the bathroom we missed something to put down some of our bathroom and morning things. The area around the sink is to small. We had to put it on the floor. The pool is not suitable for long lanes. Due to the kids pool it is not that big but enough for two or three strokes.

Great place! Great hosts! Great breakfasts! and many "great.." more :) It was our best place for staying during our trip in Portugal. Strongly recommend!

Absolutely incredible stay! Everything was perfect, super clean & comfortable & nothing was too much trouble. Vera & her mum made us very welcome during our stay & they were always on hand with anything we needed. The place is truly amazing, so tranquil & relaxing & the Quinta’s are so homely & comfortable. The salted pool was a bonus. The breakfast is delivered to your terrace & was delicious. Lots to choose from & filled us up for most of the day. I was celebrating my birthday & I’ll never forgot it. The personal touches were very much appreciated. We will definitely be returning. Thank-you so much!

Breakfast and the way to get it (on terrasse or at the pool in the morning sun) was definetily one of the unique specials and highlights,,, Calmness and relaxing atmosphere, pool, all like already described WIND PARK: Some people might be bothered : me not , see following You are in the "middle of a wind park" . When being very sensitive and depending on the wind you can hear a little noise. This all was not a negative issue for me , I even think we should get used to it to support ecological holidays,

Some parts of breakfast are pretty waste oriented (butter, jam). Not any more compliant with ecological approach. Strange, because the setup with all the container boxes in the basket is brilliant
